when I see pictures of people in prison

A quote from a counselor I had a year ago about social anxiety that I found particularly impacting:

'[Social] anxiety is like you are in a prison, but the door is wide open and you are afraid to go out."

*this is remembered as accurately as possible by me!

Prisoners get it too easy these days.

And good folks like us get it too hard.

Unless you've experienced it, you've no right to say that.
These photos don't show the fear and intimidation for instance.
For first timers it must be a bloody nightmare!

Social anxiety is worse than prison because you didn't do anything to get it. You also don't know when or if you'll ever get out....

I think prison should be more like labor camps where you're worked hard all day every day. Prisoners should be too tired to think about hurting other people and too tired to watch tv. Prison shouldn't be a place where you wait around to get out...you should be doing hard labor.

Exercise is the best therapy.

This probably will sound really stupid, but I actually have a fantasy where I'm in prison, but I get to stay in my cell all the time(they actually do have people who spend 23 out of 24 hours a day in their cell, usually really infamous criminals), and just watch tv and read and not have to worry about work, school, the future,or dealing with people.
