What's worse: no friends or no partner?

What is worse according to you; having no partner or having no friends. To be precise: would you prefer having lots of friends but no partner, or having a partner but no friends?

I'd rather have "barely any" friends and a partner, than many friends and no partner.

A girlfriend can be my best friend as well.

I'm strongly inclined to think that in the long term you can't "survive" without friends, but you could survive being single.

having a partner but no friends means your pretty much putting all your eggs in one basket. But those chickens may be so much more succulent.

I hope that makes sense and I'm not getting tangled in metaphor

Exactly, partners don't usually last, so if they're out of the picture, you end up completely alone.

Why can't I have both?
...but if I had to choose, I'd rather have a good partner. Having friends is great, but it's not the same as having someone who loves you.

I wish I had a fuck buddy, a really pretty blonde chick!

But to answer the question in a serious way, having a partner but no friends is worse. You NEED friends and thank god I have 3 good friends. You can buy sex if you want but you can't really buy friends.

I would rather have a partner and no friends. I would love to be so close to one person that I wouldn't care about not having any friends. Having a special connection to one person is worth 100 friends to me.

If your talking about just a 'physical' partner rather than someone you care about and love, i would probably still choose the same way  .

I guess I would choose having a partner over friends. I have always had a couple friends to hang out with. But due to my SA, It's been extremely difficult to find a partner.

I would prefer friends over a partner if that meant I could have a best friend. I would love to have a good best friend for a change, not like any of the ones that I've had in the past.

Plus, if I had a partner I would be tied down, so to speak. I would much rather have a night out with my best girl friends flirting with random strangers than just have one person to turn to for everything (You never know if and when they will let you down).
I really wish I didn't have SA so that I could actually do that sort of thing. :?

That's an interesting question, but does it have any basis in reality? Surely you shouldn't need to choose between one or the other.

It's just a philosophical question irrelevant to reality. It's sole purpose is to stimulate curousity. (-,-)

Sex is free if THAT's what you need.
Intimacy and love, however, can't be bought.

I'd rather have my partner then friends since a partner serves as a friend and lover....but friends would be very nice too!

I have neither friends nor a partner! The fact that I don't have friends is my own fault, since I rejected them, didn't go to places with them etc. and they stopped contacting me.
