What were some of your horrible experences with "friends?"

Mostly fake "friends" being with me only to get something from me. They were creepy and rude, and whenever I tried to say no to them, they'd whine and get mad and twist the situation to make me look like the enemy. Thanks to my fear of conflict, I've given in to their demands multiple times, and sadly, I ended up in a lot of abusive relationships. It took a while for me to get rid of them, but in the end, I did... and I feel a lot better without them.

I've similar experience, I'm glad you got rid of them.

I played soccer for half a season, once.
My team had 2 girls on it-- including me; the rest were boys around the same age.

No one spoke to me in general; the only time I was acknowledged was when I had the ball.

One day after a game, the coach invited everyone to go somewhere for ice cream. The other girl on the team begged me to come so she wouldn't be the only girl there, so I agreed and mom gave e 2 dollars to get an ice cream. (which was a big deal)

We got to the park and everyone ordered ice cream but just as I was about to sit on the beach with mine in hand, someone shoved me from behind and it splatted into the sand.
I didn't make a big deal out of it, although I could't get another and everyone else around me was eating ice cream.
After ice cream, the team wanted to go up on the hill to play in the park; away from the parents and coach.
So, I went along because the other girl on the team asked me to.
Once on the hill and out of view of the adults, I was shoved onto the ground and kicked for what seemed like a good 5 minutes while they laughed and told me;
'They only let you play because every team needs at least one poor kid who plays for free.'
and continued with comments like;
'you might be good at soccer but you're hideous and probably not good at anything else.'

So, I stopped going to games and told mom I wasn't interested in trying sports anymore.
My team went on to win the district finals.

1. Friends who spread rumours about me.

2. Friends who made me feel bad, made fun of me and judged me (different help that I'm not good at sports).

3. Friends who would ignore me unless they needed my help.

4. Friends who actually hit me.

Not really friends but merely just students who pretended to be my friends. After that, I decided that I don't need friends.

I do have friends online now I have joined this forum... :/

Wow, that's messed up. Sorry that happened. If that were me, I'd probably go after everyone on that team. Glad you're more mature and stable than I am.

While in high school, we were playing basketball during gym class. A guy I considered a friend was on the other team. I had the ball, and he came to me to play defense. For some reason, he literally hit me in my stomach with his fist. He just stared at me as I doubled-over. Friendship over. I wasn't going to give him another chance to do it again.

There have been many horrible experiences with "friends". But I think the most damaging were all the instances when I thought someone was my friend but when others made fun of me, that person would join in or talk about me behind my back.

It really chips away at ones ability to trust.

i had a few "friends" that would insult me and whenever i confronted them about it they would beat me up

another that took my clothes while i was getting changed at the local swimming pool and burnt them infront of me.

one that always claimed to be my friend but would treat me like ****, blame his troubles on me involving the police or people who you really dont want troubles with

one stole from my house and when i told his parents he beat me up pretty much every other day

ones that spread rumours

ones that took the piss out of me because ive been circumcised

had a friend online i knew for about 3 years of playing a game together, she made up lies made loads of my friends hate me for no reason then they all used to gang up and insult me and my family

2 people i got on really well with jumped me after school for no reason, hit me round the head with a rock and left me there unconcious and bleeding, luckily a neighbour found me

and the latest 3 that claimed to be my friends would put a knife to my throat if i didnt do what they said, would beat me up alot and made me get out phone contracts or they would slit my throat and then rape my lil cousin who i used to let tag along with me when i went near a park. they then stole the phones and my bank card. im now in debt of about £3000, ive payed off some but not alot

off the top of my head ive maybe had about 2/3 friends that was well a friend, unfortunetly we dont talk anymore.

thats why even on a game i rarely talk to people i dont know and if they seem at all like an idiot or a bully they go straight on my ignore. have very few friends online just cause i dont trust anyone

Your stories always make me cry. I wish I could have been there to help you fight such awful people. I wish could have done something, anything in my life for you, just something to make you smile, even just once...

I really admire you for being the great person you are and holding such values in life despite all you've gone through and all you've seen.

this happened few hours ago online,
was talking with a mate about her and her new bf..well she was i didnt do much in the way of talking and out of no-where she turned round and full blown listed all my faults and why i dont have gf and why il never have one and insulted me a bit then put me on ignore...
...i mean wtf i didnt do anything i spent the last 20mins listening to you talk about your bf about how amazing he is and i was nice and polite about it, wasnt rude at all and i get that in return..

amazing how friends can turn on you for no reason

5 years ago i was in a really bad car accident(head on collision going 100km/h). my supposed best "friend" got out of the car and took off running, leaving me trapped in the backseat. thank god the car didn't catch on fire and that some random people walking by called for help! obviously our friendship was over after that

What the hell was their explanation for doing that?

I had a "friend" that started dating a girl that he knew i had a thing for. And then i found out that he forced her to go out with him.

A bad experience with the same person was when i hadnt seen him for a while and i basically opened my heart up and talked about my horrible depression and terrible self esteem, i even told him i was thinking about suicide. I couldnt see him because i was lying on my bed and he was lying on the floor, and i hadnt heard him speak since i had started venting. I was very offended when i looked down and he was texting.

That sounds pretty crap. You did not deserve to be treated like that. The people who did that sound familiar to me. I know of people like this in the past and they are not worthy of your friendship. On the upside, at least you had a lot of friends :s

I am removing him from my life before school starts, this was recent.
But after the second incident my depression got worse, as I considered him my best friend at the time. When i saw that my "best friend" didnt care about me, i just gave up for a bit. Didnt really talk much, slumped around the house Piderman style, didnt eat, didnt really sleep. Kinda went catatonic.
