Generalized panic/anxiety disorder.
I get anxious and panic most of the time in pretty much any situation with or without a physical/mental trigger.
People make me most nervous-- people in general; thoughts of people, crowds, social situations, being near someone, world news, local news, strangers, family, etc...
Any situation that has to do with a person or people makes me nervous-- and the trigger is people.
I guess this thread has come to an end but I would like to reactivate it because it starts to address my fundamental problem as I now see it. Weirdy McGee, in her post kind of pinpointed where I am at. When I see people I get nervous. This nervousness results a secondary reaction.
I’m wondering how do you avoid a secondary reaction? OK, something has caused a trigger. How do you handle it so that the trigger does not spiral out of control and you can still appear normal. How do you handle your anxiety in real life situations when faced with triggers?
