Could somebody please explain to me in simple words what kind of disease this is?

People always say its a mild form of autism. Whatever that means.
I just saw a book in the store called "Look Me In The Eye". Its a guy's memoir of his life with Aspergers. I was very curious about it. Has anyone read it? Please comment if you did. There was a little blurb on the back of the book saying he had trouble connecting with people and looking people in the eye. It also said he's done some interesting things like building guitars for the band Kiss.

very basically it's a disorder like a milder case of autism

I actually have aspergers. Most of it has to do with awkwardness and just not knowing how to act at all in social situations. I also have kind specific obsessions about weird random things, and speak in a strange way. And a lot just not paying attention to what is around me. It's kind of hard to explain because it doesn't always make sense.

i think some people may have without really knowing, for a fact i've read about a guy who dicovered only in adulthood...
one day i was reading about autism and found about asperger, i thought i had it, some things are just too similar, but it's more likelly i was looking for the cause of my social problems , so i rather not make assumptions

It's not that easy to test I don't think, because there are are a lot of things that it could be, and there is also a lot of different things than can vary between each person. I know I have it because it ties everything together. For example the physical clumsiness which doesn't really appear to make sense with all the other stuff. I seriously like run into everything and am covered in bruises that I don't even know where they came from. But it makes a lot more sense now. I think you should get it checked out though if you think that you have it. I can't say whether you do or don't, but my guess is you probably don't have it.

I think it's fairly expensive to diagnose properly. You would need to see a specialist (it's a relatively new diagnosis) and, I've heard, they need to see video footage of you when you were a young child.
Rather than go through the expense, I would advise you to consider the reasons why you think you might have Asperger's and how they could be explained by something else.
Psychedelicious can correct me if I'm wrong: Asperger's is mainly characterized by having "obsessions" or "special areas of interest" which can be as specific as a single historical event or as wide as all of mathematics and science. Those with Asperger's want to know all about these things are constantly think, read, and want to talk about them.
Normal or early verbal development, in great contrast to the delayed verbal development of autistic children, is another hallmark. Aspies often have excellent verbal abilities despite their difficulties with social interaction. Because of this, they tend to get on better with adults than their peers. They usually have normal or above average intelligence, again in contrast to autism. Things like physical clumsiness, compulsions, tics, or autistic-like behavior are also possible symptoms in the syndrome.
These characteristics will be definitely be present in SAs as well. Having high intelligence and verbal ability but finding it hard to interact well socially is very SA. Social isolation and a desire to be alone lead to the development of compensatory interests which could be described as obsessions. Being socially anxious would make one avoid group sport and being depressed would make one less likely to exercise, leading to some atrophying of muscle and sporting skill, making one clumsy (I know this is probably the case with me).
Don't jump to conclusions but talk to someone knowledgeable if you're concerned. Having Asperger's traits may place one a little bit further along the autistic spectrum, but this isn't necessarily pathological.

ive also thought possibly of aspergers( i think i spelled it right,sorry if not)but i also sometimes wonder if in our search for the answer if we,not all mind you but some may be experiencing a form of mental hypochondrianism in our search for the answers.just a thought,i mean theres so many labels.what do all of you think on this?
