I have a lot of awful nightmares, a lot of times I have dreams where I can't wake up.. I know I am having a dream but I can't get myself to wake up and I try to scream but my voice wont work and I know I have to try to yell to wake myself up but I can't.. It's awful.. and them sometimes I wake up from my nightmare in the dream.. and then I realize I'm still in the dream and I can't get out again.. AHH It is awful. sometimes I do wake up screaming but usually not. I get less dreams when I take a sleeping pill so I do that a lot.

I had a dream a few weeks ago that Jesus was trying to strangle me! I think it was because I was reading up about religion a lot at the time.. Maybe a bit too much it seems! It was totally weird though!

I recently had a really horrible nightmare that I was with my family and my mom's girlfriend pulled me aside and said "you don't know anything about me" and I said, "yes I do I know about your family and that you like (this and that blah blah)
and then she said "I have something to tell you," and she started to write on a paper then her coice changed and she said "6..6..6.." and I was so afraid and she starte trying to hand me this paper and I ran through our house trying to scream as she chased me with the paper and I was like I HAVE TO WAKEUP I HAVE TO! finally I did and I couldn't go back to sleep I made my boyfriend get up and I started to cry when I told him I couldn't even say it outloud..
then I couldn't let it go I was so afraid I was going to be possesed or something or satan was trying to contact me. I kept praying over and over.
I have a pretty big fear with that stuff though and recently my grandma had been telling me I need to start going to church again and I had talked about something religious at work..
I don't know.. it was ****ing scary though

eh I disagree.. I remember one time the other night I was dreaming and I was sort of awake a little I guess and I kept thinking in the dream I need to get my boyfriend to touch me it will make this dream soo great so I like knew I was cuddling him and I like kept trying to tell him but everytime I tried it didn't really happen because I said it in the dream.. it was weird.

I did a dream quite similar once, I dreamed of Scrooge McDuck on a kind of "rocket bike" in outer space... Weird but nice :D

Lol Scrooge McDuck? That's amazing! My dreams almost never make sense...most of the time they're just pretty stupid. Does anyone get nightmares that are really scary when you first wake up, but then after you're up for a while you realize how silly they were? A few nights ago I had a dream that this dog followed me home, and I didn't want to get my rug dirty. I woke up and was terrified that there was a dog in my room. I love dogs! It cracks me up.

I usually don't remember any of my dreams, but lately I've had some involving all of my teeth falling out- really weird.

I've only had sex in a dream once. At it wasn't really sex, it was really just intimate hugging/kissing/touching while naked. It was really awesome though, and I was super pissed when I woke up.

Does anyone know if there is a way to induce these dreams?

I don't know how to induce those kinds of dreams, but when I first started taking St John's Wort for depression I had really vivid dreams everynight... sometimes lucid dreams. It's worn off now ::(:
Apparently it has this effect on some - but might interfere with other depression meds.

Maybe you could wake yourself up at 4 in the morning and focus on what you want to dream about. As usually people dream about what they were thinking about just before they drop off, and what's happened during the day. As you dream more in the later hours of sleep, there's a good chance you'll be ready to dream! Just a suggestion

I used to be well into lucid dreaming - but the hardest part I found was staying in the dream... it's hard not to wake up or have the dream take over... you've got to really will it.

I have looked that up before. i used to be really into dreams.. anyway I am pretty sure that teeth falling out is from a feeling of losing control.
It was a while since I looked it up so i could be wrong. just thought I'd share though

Thanks- this kind of makes sense, because I'm at a point right now where I'm very anxious- about to finish school and still don't have a job lined up. It is like a feeling of having no control about things, and a being a little helpless as well. And I thought it was just guilt about not having gone back to the dentist in a while lol.

Sometimes I get scared when I'm falling asleep because I can feel myself leaving consciousness and I know that random images are about to start appearing in front of my eyes.

Last night was one of those nights, and I was looking in the direction of the foot of my bead (eyes closed of course) while thinking about being in an office.

Sure enough, a moment later a table appears at the foot of my bed with a metal chair facing towards me with a man wearing glasses leaning on his elbow sits facing me.

I know it was only the beginning of a dream, but those kind of moments never fail to freak me out freak me out

When I was kid I had a dream of the future that came true several weeks later. But it wasn't any big disaster, it was a football game!

Okay, in the dream I was watching TV and it was the UK FA Cup Final (this was some weeks before the final when about six or eight teams were still in it) but in the final I was watching on a colour TV (at the time our TV was black and white!)Liverpool had just lost to another team who wore red. The thing I remember most is the TV camera focusing on a Liverpool player called Ian Callaghan, at how devastated he was at the result.

On the FA cup final day, it had been whittled down to two teams - Liverpool playing in white and Manchester United playing in red. Apparently, the big shock of the day was that Ian Callaghan was to play after being out for several months with an injury.

Liverpool lost..to a "team in red"...the TV camera showed how upset the players were...especially Ian Callaghan....

The weird thing is, I've never been particularly interested in football. My two older brothers were and still are fanatical Liverpool supporters tho.

lol .. odd

one time when the "Pick 3" lotto had just come out, my dad and I went to go buy some tickets.

That night I picked the numbers 6 , 9 , 0, but those were not the numbers for that night.

The NEXT night, (on a day that we didn't buy any tickets), the winning numbers were 6 , 9 , and 0.

I was the only one who realized this, and I was SO MAD!
Nobody believed me especially my dumb sister.

A few nights ago, I had this very vivid dream where I was walking barefoot on some white sandy gravel ground with thorns. Around me appeared to be a large crowd of people and an exchange of items. The thorns were bothering my feet but I hadn't brought any shoes so I decided to just bare it.

Ok so this was the dream. Oddly enough, I randomly got a chance to travel to a nearby beach with some people I know. This beach had the very same kind of ground (white, sandy, pebbly, full of thorns) .. and there was a celebration taking place with a large crowd of people. And there was even an auction going on. I wasn't barefoot, tho.

I think the walking on thorns and having to bare it came from what happened later that day. And that was that I was forced to be in a very painful situation that I couldn't leave since I felt unprepared.

The coincidence between the detailed dream I had and what kind of scenery I was later surrounded by makes it seem like a premonition. Was it really? I guess I'll never know
