Do you find it hard to imagine how other people are feeling?

Yes I have a lot of trouble with empathy. I have a hard time reading body language or how they feel. If someone tells me how bad they feel I can't feel that. I sometimes come as rude when I can't understand but in all reality I'm trying my best to understand.

Do you have trouble learning?

Yes I have to learn in different ways. I have trouble hand writing so I have to type. I also can not learn from just hearing I have to see how its done or see a diagram. I remember pretty much everything and with practice or studying I can master that skill. I also like to be self taught.

I've heard people with autism can become really obsessed with random stuff. Like I heard of one guy who collects a specific type of light switch or something. How intense is it? Like does it take up a lot of your free time? Does it get in the way of more important things? How does it even happen?

I have an addiction of comic books. I have over 300 and I only started a few years ago. I am learning to control my spending on them. When I'm around comic books I just want to read them and have them on my shelf near me. I read them all the time. They used to get in my way of important things, but I am learning to read more on my free time instead of in class.

Yes I find certain things hard, like hygiene or taking my medications. I usually have to be told to do these.

That's not what I meant.

I meant do you have specific rituals or routines or habits that you try to keep? A specific order of doing things? Inflexibility/stubbornness? A preference for order?

Oh sorry about that. Well I try to do everything in an order that makes me comfortable. I like to do things the right way and if we do them wrong it really bugs me.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at.

I don't have a diagnosis of Asperger's but I have some of the traits. I have a thing with routines/sameness... a general "rigidity" or inflexibility. I don't like being spontaneous usually, which is a problem when it comes to real life, it seems most people are flexible and will do things on a whim. Well, not me.

I have to have everything planned, no surprises. I can't just wake up and say I'm do something on the spot its usually planned out for me.

I am watching "Parenthood" right now on Netflix and I was wondering (while watching Max) if he actually had feelings of care for other people and just didn't show them, or if he was so deep in his world that he couldn't feel the care... because he always seems to be concerned with something if it directly effects him. Do you have any insight on this (if you are familiar with the show).

Well see, with autism you do care but you just don't know how to show it. An example is when someone tells me great news and are happy I can't show that happiness, even though I am happy for them. I can't say congratulations, its simple but I find it extremely difficult.

Thanks for helping me to understand

Do you have trouble with change? What does a change or sudden surprise feel like to you?

Thank you so much for being open to questions

Change is something I hate I like things the way they are for example. I am a big gamer and when the ps4 came out I thought it was stupid because the ps3 already had everything that was great. I hate whenever things change it really bugs me. I don't mind being open I'm enjoying it.
