traveling with bus/train, how do you feel?

Hello there,

So tomorrow I'm going to see a friend, and she will pick me up at the bus station and we will travel together to her place. I'm nervous lol..
But I really want to do it, because she always visited my place, I never come over at her place. (Btw, we know eachother from the chat,
We have meet up like almost 10 times now..:)) So I'm going to travel with the bus, with her.
(I'm glad she's one of the most supportive people i've ever met, She wants to help me, by picking me up, and telling me it's all okay :))
Do you guys go with the bus/train alot? Or do you avoid it also?

My mind is like, ''I'm going to do it, it's a challenge for me''. But at the same time i think like..
''Ow no, all the people in the bus will look at me, I will act like a nervous freak''. :-/

So I'm really nervous, but at the same tiime I see it as a competition! Lol.

X Flowery  ;)

I have to use the bus to get to classes on time. It can get pretty bad, especially when it gets so crowded you are literally shoulder to shoulder with everyone around you. But though I can get pretty anxious in that situation, it helps to notice that the people around you either don't care (are busy talking to someone, reading the paper) or are just as uncomfortable as you.

The biggest likely embarrassment on a bus I think is falling on someone; I've seen it happen multiple times. So if you are standing and the bus driver likes to make sharp turns, hold on tight!

Oh please don't screw my week-end. ::(: I absolutely HATE going with the bus. I never go with train or other transportation. For school & work I gotta take the same bus. For school I take a bus earlier so I don't need to take the busy one with loud people/kids. To go home I take a bus later to avoid the noisy people, again. For work I don't have a choice, I gotta take the busy busses. ::(: Sigh .. Just a little bit more and it's summer again. Then I go to work & school by bike. Althrough I would like a car next year, I don't want it because I wanna save some money. Not spend it on transportation. I'll just have to though it out next year.

I really don't like taking the bus. (The only trains/light rail around here are Amtrak and the Metro Rail in Buffalo, I have no reason for using either.) It's crowded, it smells, it's noisy, people always want to engage in small talk, I hate it. If I'm pressed for time, have far to go or the weather is bad I'll take the bus, if not, I'll walk. Like today, I have a therapist appointment, the weather is decent (albeit a little chilly), it's only 4 1/4 miles away and I have a few hours to spare, I'm walking. (Besides, it's good exercise!)

I catch the train daily to work it's not as scary as u think :) top tips don't look at the ppl around u as u enter then as soon as u walk into the train say something nice to urself like "it is ok to be on the train it's not going to kill me" and when you sit down in ur seat if u dot feel comfortable looking at the ppl in front of u close ur eyes and count backward in ur head ... Also look at the signs and pictures on the train and read them :) distract urself from ur thoughts hehe and possibly bring an iPod ! YOU CAN DO IT ! :)

People on trains are dead to the world for the most part. I have greatly enjoyed people watching at peak hour particularly in the morning. They stand there with solemn looks on their faces like they would much rather be somewhere else. I only count about one or two others on the same carriage which even has something close to resembling a smile on their face.

Buses always bring out the 'I hate the human race' in me. When people block a seat with their bag, when they cough and sneeze the whole time, when stupid uneducated mothers come on and scream at their confused children the whole time, when people sit on the aisle seat when the window seat is free, when people walk to the front of the bus to tell the driver when to stop instead of ringing the bell, the benefit whores who swear loudly the whole time, the attention whores who talk so everyone can hear, the stupid boys who talk loudly about their illegal pit bulls and how dangerous they are...
I hate it.

I actually don't mind taking the bus, I almost never get bothered. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones or I have a people repelent face. If you take an ipod its like you're in your own little planet.
