no it's not, you should never stay with people that has zero respect for you. You only gonna make things worse for you. Make them pay though 
IMHO, it depends on what is said. Everybody talks behind everybodys backs. People are frustrating, venting to other people is a nice way to get rid of frustration, and that helps keep friendships alive by not having pent up frustration between people
The biggest thing js not to let petry things bother you.
Now there is things that can be said that makes it worth ending a friendship, but to me has to be pretty major

nope it's not. i ended a friendship with a girl who was my friend, yet talking about me behind my back, and she was sleepin with every guy and very bitchy to everybody. She doesn't give a clue about what people think.
I saw her while cyclin today, she was looking at me with this strange face and said ''Ewwww''
I'm really sick of these people acting so rude. It makes me feel even more aware of myself and gives the word to my thoughts. their so mean those people are rude animals.

I've had a lot of friends stab me in the back especially when they gain a new popular status for themselves but they called me up several years ago and I didn't talk to them because I just remembered all the cold stares they would give me while walking to school, they went to a more expensive one making me the black sheep. Still it's been so long and I wish had taken that call and just let it go sometimes it really only gets better that way.
