Recently diagnosed- medication question.

Anyone have any success in treating this disorder with medications? If so, please share.

I was put on Celexa (generic, citalopram) about a year and a half ago for anxiety. It has helped a LOT. I'm still very avoidant and still have a lot of issues, but it has helped. Also, Klonopin helps with panic attacks.

medications can really only treat the symptoms(low mood, anxiety) but the rest is up to you..

Do you mean meds for social anxiety? If that is the case then no, no meds worked for me. Only therapy worked.

I was on a variety of meds when I first started treatment. It helped with the depression, not the anxiety.

The side-effects were bad, I got nauseous, dizzy spells, and I couldn't orgasm. I went off of them cold-turkey, the withdrawals were far worse.
