Does anyone find that they become suddenly depressed when they're around other people, as in a class room setting?

This happens to me. It's a major inconvience when you want to be able to learn the material that the teacher is presenting to the class.

I was wondering if this was a typical symptom of social phobia.

I have noticed myself here lately getting really quite and sad feeling around people , I think mine is due to my anxiety though. Have you been diagnosed with depression?

yup! after several minutes i notice most people are talking away, having a laugh and every so often i'll speak up but it rarely gets a reaction and it can really bring you down if your feeling sensitive

its like you step into another dimension and suddenly you're faced with all these obstacles of personlaities and egos to battle with trying to fit in amongst them ...

Yeah, I was diagnosed with depression, in addition to, OCD and social phobiam of course... Sorry, what I meant was OCD comorbid social phobia. I was diagnosed with these meloncholy illnesses durring my last two lovely years at my highschool. Needless to say, I wasn't able to really do anything durring that time, considering that I was experiancing panaic attacks on a regular basis, such as 3-5 times in a week... or even more. And they were panic attacks...

I don't think that when we try to describe our illnesses that we should choose to use any othe descriptor except for suck. Suck is the only word that we should use because the illness does not deserve a literary, poetic description.

Sorry if what wrote was entirly incoherant.. I'm about to go to sleep ( I took zopiclone a few minutes ago.)
