I totally agree with everything in that video!

The situation presented at :26 is one of the worst for me. If there's a big group of people on their phones, it makes me not really want to chat because I feel like I'm not important enough, and they'd rather be with whoever they're speaking to on their phones. Ironically, though, if they were with their phone conversational partner, they'd probably be texting me!

My girlfriend is a big Facebook/selfie/photo person, and I don't care for it. Not every little caveat of life needs to be documented, but that's just me and I'm starting to be in the minority, I think, haha.

In the video, the part where they're at the lookout is a perfect time to get off the phone and just enjoy the view. :)

I recently had to break off of 2 friendships because of "The phone" .. he started off with texting and calling his other friend at the time while we were hanging out almost everytime. Then he would go hang out with her and I would text him to chat real quick and she would take over his phone and reply to my texts because come to find out he was too drunk to answer my texts. Then when I saw her, she would always show me pictures of them two hanging out together.. taking pics of everywhere they went together and then it was pics of the cat, dog, her boyfriend, her house, her car... bulls***.. bulls***.. Phones ruin friendships!

The pace at which global culture has incorporated this little gimmick in our lives is amazing, and the usual problem with these sudden lifestyle changes is misuse, and for many people it's actually turning into a serious addiction. My personal strategy is to have an outdated smartphone, so this way I can't install many more apps than the ones I need to relate, basically whatsapp and mail.

I mainly use my phone just to check the time. The few friends I have rarely respond to a text so I just don't bother anymore. I can understand that people dont need to respond to a text within minutes, but I find it rude to not respond at all.
Even more so I have just a basic flip phone, I see no need for a smartphone as I would really just put some music on it, an I already have an iPod (probably my favorite piece of new technology in the past decade), so I'm good.

I use my phone as a shield to avoid eye contact with other people when I'm in college. I should probably stop doing that.
