I'm planning to take advatage of my dual citizenship and flee to a certain south american country that has no extridition treaties :p Lets see the collection agency find me down there!

In all seriousness, I have no idea how I will pay my loans, I try not to think about it, it depresses me more, I decided that in all likeliness, I will be in so much debt by the time im 30 I will never ever be able to afford it!

or join the military like I did. Got my associates degree free of charge, and I'll be 3/4's towards a Bachelor's degree by the time I have to start paying out of my own pocket. I figure I'll only have to owe 10 to 20k in student loans.

Honestly, no offense to service men as I have alot of respect for them, but I would rather be force-fed broken glass then join the military....I ALMOST did before college, so glad I did not. It's not the fighting/guns/war/death that scares me, its our own gov. I can be treated like crap here by family/friends/gov, it doesnt need to be 100% gov :p As far as I'm concerned, the gov should be paying 100% of your school needs after serving with them, they should pay up to a PhD if you wanted. You risked your life your the gov, you put up with their crap, and they will only pay for "part". (Didnt they used to do that in the 50s? I don't know.)

Guess point I'm trying to make is I don't want to put my personal life and freedoms on "loan" to the gov, just to pay college loans.

coyote, that's cheating!!

fitftw, joining the military is a fine choice for people who are interested in that type of option but I'm sure many people here would be either unfit to join (history of depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts - or physically unable to join; like me) or just not interested in it.
It's a good suggestion though. I have known plenty of people to do just that in order to either get them through school-- or to pay off their initial loans from some other sort of schooling.

I've had some friends who joined overseas teaching programs in Asia in order to pay off their loans as well. If teaching is your profession and you'd like to see some of the world, It seems like a good idea.

Or you could win the lottery! wee!

My loan payments have been on hold for 4 years... and magically, 3grand worth has disappeared into thin air! Who paid that for me?! It wasn't me! XD

I only mentioned military because I had no other choice. I have severe social issues and depression, but I don't like to be labeled or pigeon-holed.

When you're living in a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe during the dead of winter and you're running out of money for the dollar menu at McDonalds because you gave up on college after high school and your parents found drugs in your room and want you gone and you've been to court twice for possession, you really don't have any other options. It was the military, or find a homeless shelter. Now my parents like me again, and actually respect me immensely.
