Let It Go, mums can be concerned and ever so cheerful, eh?
There was a chain letter going around about a girl who 'got married with a guy with aids, got kids/pregnant...' and then it said 'oh, no worries mum, I just flanked the exam/the year and will have to re-take'... sometimes parents need things to be put into perspective...
are you doing criminal things, taking illegal drugs, prostitutiting yourself, behaving slutty...? no? Then your mum can be lucky she has such a good daughter!! (maybe she needs to be told THAT too!!)
Today my mum was 'announcing' something terrible again (I had a backache relapse, and she was 'fortune-telling' again!) and I said, 'Hey mum, thanks for being ever-so-cheerful and announcing such good and pleasant things' and such, and she was just a bit flabbergasted lol and then would leave it alone haha.. (Dad and sis chuckled)
so if your mum is anything like mine, I'm not surprised about low self-esteem and being in your room... There are ways to work on your confidence and self-esteem and outlook too!! Did you get any of the books I told you about?
Another would be by Louise Hay: You Can Heal Your Life. It helped me lots when I was younger!!
Step 1: go to the library, or check online, if they have these books.. or go to a used bookstore or Amazon if you can afford buying them.. for me, library would be a first choice.. if you're embarassed about getting such books from a library, you could say they're for a project or something?
You don't know what the future brings, and neither does your mum (or mine).
Being too much online can be bad indeed, and can make depression worse or even cause it, if you're on the computer 5+hrs a day... so it's good to find other things to do too..
Have you found any good clubs or volunteering opportunities where you live too?
Take care hun, and know things CAN get better.. you do need to work on them getting better tho!
