Oh and get your facts right as i said theres unemployment not every one is unemployed name me one town un the world were every one is unemployed

Please don't get defensive. I didn't mean to offend or upset you. Just stating the truth (in my eyes). You definitely sounded pessimistic in your paragraph and I wanted you to know that there ARE things you can do! You're restricting yourself 'I can't do this, can't do that.' You can do it.

Of course not everyone is unemployed. But that's what you made it seem like. You couldn't find friends because your town is filled with drinkers, fighters and unemployment. But not everyone is plagued with these things! Thus there's hope in finding someone who's like you! For a few years I couldn't get along with people. Simply because I was uncomfortable around people. But I'm learning. Humans are social creatures. People are driven to insanity when left in complete solitude. I don't know what you're dealing with, though. Maybe you're depressed and that's your main problem. Maybe you fear social interaction and that is the cause of your depression in the first place.

Either way, I'm just trying to help you. I'm trying to tell you that you CAN do it. You're NOT a burden. You CAN be around people! It's hard...It's scary, but you can.

but all my friends look down on me i dont want to be around people like that anymore i give up completly ill never be anything i miye aswell die what is the point i live in a ****ty country oh and by the way all everyone thinks about is drugs and themselves im telling you the sort of people im dealing with im dealing with the sort of people who dont want to know you unless you got what they want i guarentee if i used drugs they would be around me like a pack rats looking for some you see no one cares society sucks ive had enough watch me rot

Man, my friends are almost to the last one of them on their way to being millionaires or even multi-millionaires. Some of them don't even acknowledge me as a friend anymore. The ones that do look at me in pity and maybe even scorn.

I live in a country where I've to be a conscript over and over again despite all my mental and physical problems. I don't have a 'real job' and my family looks down on me as well. The cost of living is high and the pace of life fast. If you're like me, you're just left by the roadside. I can't even sleep properly, so I can't use sleep as an escape. I can't even remember the last time I ever slept at night.

What I'm saying is I know where you're coming from and that you're not alone. Some of us here know what it feels like. Try getting a hobby or just anything that you can enjoy. Preferably something active like brisk walking or real life painting rather than more passive activities. It helps, trust me.

Hmm... long term, maybe you can look into doing some online surveys for a bit of cash or vouchers. You know online stuff...

Yeah not being able to work does suck majorly, but people just do not understand it Because they are not like you, me or any others with mental issues (I have not worked in 5 years). I consider myself a VERY, VERY strong individual having survived what I have been through without being on drugs or any of that other crap lots of people tend to turn to when faced with extreme adversity. I never went down that road and I am still here fighting and will always fight because I am a fighter. Take pride in the fact that you are still here and still breathing trying to conquer your issues. Like I said I have been through hell and back a few times and I am still here and am as determined as ever. Just keep fighting my man! Although what I am doing right now with my life sucks because I am accomplishing nothing right now I do take lots of pride in how I have handled things and the fact that through all of this mess I have kept a decently level head and still have dreams of a better life.

I admire that.. I can't do the same. People around me keep looking down on me. I didn't go down that drugs road either... But when I just quit my 'road to success' thing when I quit my second job... It's like suddenly I'm a nobody to everyone. Good for you man that you still have dreams. Mine are dying or maybe dead.

this is all going to sound like crap, but it's the truth:

things will change

they always change

nothing ever stays the same

that's the nature of our existence

you are very young - even though it doesn't feel like it to you

if my life had ended at any of the points I thought I wanted it to, I wouldn't be alive now to enjoy the many beautiful things I have now

you have no idea what lies beyond tomorrow - none of us do

but instead of looking back in sorrow at the past - work on preparing yourself for that brighter future you want

envision what it looks like, feels like, tastes like, to be the person you want to be

what does a person like that do? how does he act?

now start behaving that way

the rest will follow

I agree with all that, but i might add that although things do change, the rate of such change i think is a very broad range (ie the person might have "blockages" that might hinder that change). But in the long run, whether that be months, years, or even decades, change will no doubt happen. All things will pass, eventually. All this will pass...

And just just give you a useful "point of reference": I haven't worked for over 10 years. Haven't been on speaking terms with my father for ~3 months (we've always hated each other). Haven't seen anybody for 2 weeks. Society has gradually "scared me into hiding", which means i hardly have any social contact, and almost never go out, but i also don't have to deal with people such as you mentioned. It's my personal preference to suffer endless solitude (& a fair amount of loneliness), rather than suffer helplessly at the hands of these "mercanaries".

Graduated from HS at 17. Total working experience 3 year. Now, i'm 27 year old. 17+3 = 20-27 = -7 year. That is the total years i stay jobless and hiding from society. I don't have 1 single friend. None. Basically, I'm not much better than you. As long you don't give up... there is hope.

this seems very simple but an early night and drinking water is a start, then plan out a positive constructive day even if you feel horrible following the plan. its going to be a lot better then the lifestyle you have at the moment.

you need to slowly swim your way out of this destructive state of mind you are currently in.

you need to press the eject button not the destruct button.

start convincing yourself that you were put on this earth to contribute something positive. even delude yourself that once upon a time you lived in a world that was your ideal world. its not totally genuine but all you need is a trigger or a change of state to get you marching in the right direction.

Inspiration, I don't think you looked in the air all that time?

Whatever you did, you can put it in your CV/resume...

Did you hang on forums? (=international networking, communication with people worldwide, internet skills)

Did you attempt to earn money online or start your own biz? You probably did a lot of things that are transferrable skills too.. (eg research, market analysis, analysis of problems and opportunities, etc)

You can still do volunteering or do freelancing or even start own biz/non-profit. Nobody is going to ask you about your previous job experience if you come up with interesting ideas for projects etc.

That goes for Smallestloser too.. You don't have to work 'for profit' to be a meaningful member of society... Millions worldwide currently don't do profitable work 'for money', are you saying they are worth less too??

Unemployment still high, crisis not over yet
15 Sep 2010 - The International Monetary Fund (IMF), together with the International Labour Organization (ILO), held an international conference on global unemployment on Monday. According to the ILO data, a total of 30 million people had become unemployed since 2007, with 3/4 of them from the developed world. If not for the stimulus measures launched by various countries, another 23 million people would have lost their jobs. At present there are 210 million unemployed people worldwide, and it's estimated a further 443 million job seekers would flood into the labor market in the following decade. The IMF pointed out there were more and more long-term unemployed people, which would weaken social cohesion and raise risks of unrest, or even undermine and erode democracy.

Perhaps these particular workers need recognition for their contribution to society!
(for non-academic jobs, it's easier to get a job without Uni where I live these days..)
AND:
There is no doubt in my mind that governments should move away from the "work ethic" obsession and train people for leisure! Much crime and animal abuse is the product of idle hands so how much better to provide useful activity by way of sport, hobbies and useful pastimes such as volunteering for the many worthy charities that exist that for example the person existing on state benefits who has the time available cannot afford to participate in! Sadly Governments despite their claim to the contrary are not noted for being able to think outside the box! Education for leisure should be a worldwide mantra however all the while governments continue to waste our tax dollars on redundant security services war vivisection and other unnecessary evils then nothing will be achieved except the preservation of the rich poor divide spawning more of the same resentment and dysfunctional society!

The whole perception of people in the Western world needs to change...
