he said he wanted to kill himself, he called me on the phone, and on MSN too, and it was like an hour ago. So I called the police, and I lead them to where he was living. They took him in and talked for like an hour. some one told me he tried to kill himself over a girl last year, I was like "WHOA..WTF" there's so much he didn't tell me...(I tried that too..twice..lol)..

it wasn't till this school year, that I found the courage to tell my parents 90% of all my issues. What I did before was so stupid..for two random girl, that didn't wasn't worth my time, two great bitches.

So, I was kind of nervous, talking to the police. k, I don't know if he still want to be friends or not, cuz he is kind of pissed off at me for calling the police

Good on you for having the courage to take some action. It's what a good friend would do. Oh, and talking with your parents about stuff too...that's something I can't see myself doing in the foreseeable future!

yes absolutely, you did the right thing.
and yes, he may get mad at you.
but after some time has passed and life gets better for him, he'll see just how much of a friend you are.

Just out of interest, is he mad at you for calling the police because of the embarrassment involved or is he mad because it actually prevented him from going through with it? If it's the latter then I suggest you keep an eye on him for a while.

It may have been a "good" thing to do but he has the right to be pissed at you forever now since it's not really your business to get the police involved in his affairs IMO

If he actually tried to kill himself last year and was threatening to try again, you should have called the police. Technically what you have is a person threatening to kill a person (even if both persons are, in fact, the same person ;)). That sounds like a reportable offense to me. And what if he planned to try by stepping in front of an automobile, thus putting others in harm's way?

He should be angry with you. You called his bluff. So maybe he wasn't really going to kill himself. But once his anger passes he might realize that one of his friends cared enough about him to get invovled. But if you value your front teeth, I'd stay away from him until he cools off. ;)

Back in my teens, my parents basically ran out of ideas on how to help me. So one morning I wake up to see two cops in my bedroom, ready to take me to the hospital. No time to take a leak. Just throw on your socks and shoes, and grab a jacket on your way out to the back seat. Boy was I happy....

I knew that my parents only had good intentions. But if they showed up that day I was ready to beat the shit out of them. Between my anxiety and my anger, my blood pressure was reading over twice what a "healthy" level should be. The nurse even took it twice, because it was so high she thought the machine just screwed up. The next day I calmed down a bit, and actually let them see me without so much as a cross word.

So your friend might be pretty pissed at you for a while. And even if it ruins your friendship, it's better to lose his friendship than to spend the rest of your life wondering if you could have helped him. So next time he'll either attempt suicide without telling anyone, or realize that suicide is only for cowards and the terminally ill.

And he'll know that at least one person cares whether he lives or not.

:)

O wow dude, my anxiety would have shoot through the roof if something like that happen. The idea of calling up the cops and leading them to a friends house just brings chills to my bone, but you did the right thing...
