I seem to encounter a lot of rude/condescending people recently. Not sure why, but it's usually an encounter where I feel I haven't really done anything to deserve it, such as:
one time I was in CVS, and I went up to the counter and asked very politely “do you have egg coloring kits for sale?” I had called previously and they didn't have any in stock at the time, but when I went there, the cashier was apparently having a very bad day and retorted rudely “I don’t know, did you look?” and as I was walking back to I guess, find them myself, she followed me and gave me a nasty look like what I just asked was equal to "I like to eat babies in my sleep".
and after that, I was like “(sarcastically, but I am not sure if she noticed) Oh, thanks so much for your help.”
oh, sorry to bother you from your job to do your job, thanks for your attitude, this makes my anxiety much better, thanks much
