Job Interview Tomorrow.

I'm not quite sure where to post this, so sorry if it's in the wrong place. I have a job interview tomorrow and I'm freaking out. I've never had a job, nor been to a job interview. I'm the most shy and socially dysfunctional person out of everyone I know, it really sucks. I'm even shy around some family members. I never know what to say to people or how to hold conversations. It's also extremely hard to look anyone in the eye while speaking to them. I usually come off as stupid (which I'm starting to believe that I actually am) while talking to people. I'm so nervous about the job interview. What should I expect and how should I deal with it? I don't want to have some sort of anxiety attack while at the interview. Also, if I do get the job itself, how do I deal with people? It's at a retail store and I'll have to do the cash register too. Does anyone have any advice?

If I were you I wouldn't go after that type of job, it sounds way to stressful and confronting for people like us. I don't mean to be negative but this could set you even further back. When I was 15 I worked at Woolworths at the checkout and hated it , I lasted 2 shifts before they put me in the back warehouse to price stock.

"people like us" good way to label yourself.

Try to smile and look confident (even if inside ur panicking), the worse there gona think is that ur nervous, and thats normal for interviews. I dont think the job ur going for is ideal for you - seeing as ur already panicking about it, but i suppose u never know untill u try it.

Just try your best. Some customers are mean because they have messed up lives and will be mad for no reason toward you but mostly their nice. For the interview it's good to ask questions at the end and seem really interested. Be like wow i like meeting new people and stuff :p

I got to be in a lot of intervies. And the most important thing I want to tell you is that EVERYONE gets somehow scary on them. People never know how to expect and overthink that they might answering something wrong.

As you are gonnar work on retail store the interview will be for sure more about your disponibility to work, if full-time, part-time, day, night, if you have any experience and why did you choose this work.

One thing I got to know, when your curriculum is not important to the job, just be honest. People tend to appreciate it. With that you will be more relief.

Be positive and most of all give the idea that u're really interesting at the job.

Congratulations on getting the interview! I wish you the very best of luck with it. Have you had any experience in retail? Do hope for the best, of course, but if you don't get the job, some voluntary work might be worth your consideration. I've come across a few volunteering opportunities here that offer the chance to achieve an NVQ in retail services - a work-based award in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Something like that could give you a bit of an edge. That aside, you will also get the chance to see if it's the right sort of work for you. I don't know where you're from, so I'm unsure as to what options you have, but I think it's the sort of work I'd be considering too. This sort of job could be just what you need.

I'm not sure what to say about interviews, sorry for that. The best thing you can do is maybe a little practice with some typical questions, so you're more likely to be able to answer them in the real thing. Take a look: Interview Questions: Job Interview Questions and Answers. It's also very normal to be at least a bit nervous in an interview, so don't worry too much about that.
