Yay! It's going to take me at least one month to remember to write 2012 when I write the date.

I didn't exactly have a good start already on the first day. Lost any self-confidence on the first day after being forced to go out and follow her stupid trip with family friends. I don't want a bad relationship with my mom, but I shouldn't have to waste time on her when I'm having trouble with myself.

I'm sorry about that. Things may have started off on a bad foot, but you've got so much time to turn things around. Don't think that just because you start off bad that you're going to end badly, okay? Now, have you explained how you felt to your mom? If you don't enjoy going out with her to meet family friends, then maybe explaining how you feel will get her to leave you alone a bit.
