Is your humor undetectable?

I dislike fun and prefer not to laugh. I look even more stupid when I am in a good mood, hence I prefer to stay serious and at least semi-professional, distanced all the time.

That's too bad :( I like fun, but I never get to have it.

As for me, I think I have a really good sense of humor, more on the down to earth side. My sister's best friend told me the other day that she hates the movie Dumb and Dumber with Jim Carrey in it. I was floored!! I couldn't understand it because that movie cracks me up. But we all have our own ideas of what humor is, like some people love Will Ferrell, but I don't get it.

My joke-telling is horrendous, I couldn't crack a joke if my life depended on it. But I do like to laugh. I tend to stay on the serious side mostly when I am around people I've just met. My radar can't detect others persons' styles of humor and I don't want to make a fool of myself. I made my mom crack up on Skype tonight because she blew a kiss at me and I 'ate it.' If you really know me well, my sense of humor lies a bit on the goofy side.

I find it's pretty hit and miss with me, I have a way of relaying information in a humorous yet serious way, it involves a lot of sarcasm. I'm not very good at jokes though, I just tell stupid stories to people. Sometimes I have people crying from laughter, other times I go way over the top and people are like... "okaaaay...then". I don't really care though. :D

Well because my sense of humour is pretty warped, I bring up topics which are completely inappropriate and slightly offensive. But even when I know I'll get a bad reaction, I still go through with it. I don't really get the awkward silence anyway, people just sorta laugh and say "STOP NOW" and then continue laughing because I'm just a nutcase. :D

But I do have to be very comfortable with the people I'm talking to, otherwise I'm generally serious all the time, like on here.

i'm a very serious person and even when i am joking i still come across as dead serious. it's not that i come off in that pretentious deadpan humor way but people can't tell i'm joking at all. they think i am just being my normal serious self and just making bizarre statements. does this happen a lot to you, too?

Yeah all the time with acquaintances or in a group of 3 or more. It's just my brain is 'attempting' at making the joke flow naturally, but instead of how for a normal person they just speak what comes in their head and it's funny, I hold my thoughts back because I think it might be awkward.. and usually it is.

I hadn't noticed, dottie.

I, for one, think you're very funny.

Especially when you say something bizarre.

I say bizarre things all the time on purpose, because I find "bizarre" to be very entertaining.

Sometimes people get it - and they think it's funny - but I'm not sure they realize that I was intending to be funny, so they laugh in spite of themselves

I think this is hilarious, personally

It's also a nice laugh to hear from someone, because it's automatic and unrestrained and not forced or contrived

I'm rambling now

What was the question again?
