I speak differently than most people

I'm not sure if anyone else finds this odd, but I have a very distinctive choice of vocabulary and sentences I form directed to others. Online mostly. Example of fantasy movies. How people talk in war kind of fantasy movies using speaking different language of what people "normally" speak of. In this case, in the modern world where most people use unnecessary slang terms and just talk like anyone else does. However, I want to be apart from speaking like a "normal" human being. I just find for me, talking like people in those movies where they speak certain languages no one else speaks. Is it weird of me? I mean, I'm talking about those fantasy movies like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars kind of speaking language. Or could it be something I can enrich into. I am just tired of modern speaking kids have for usage, but I like to be creative in how I want to talk. Would you find this weird? Perhaps, I'm the only one who honestly feels in this type of position.

Can you give an example of the sorts of things you say differently? Then give the "translation" into how kids these days would say it. Just to get a feel for what you mean.

I too speak differently from those around me. I've developed a somewhat American accent mixed with my native Irish accent, which leads to people that live here asking "Where are you from?" as if I moved here. I also don't like using local colloquialisms or slang, which I feel makes me stand out, coming from what is essentially a country of small farming communities.

You make me think of Lewis Carroll, especially, when looking it up, he gets inspiration from epilepsy and migraine! That is my world! Lion & Wardrobe.

The Matrix. The Terminator

I was good at school to come up with the most creative response to essay titles. I wish I could write like Iain M Banks

I talk to people in an office structured with metaphors - examples... I try to get people to understand me. I use sarcasm, mostly. This doesn't seem to work much anymore, since school.

Labelled as the person who lives on Planet Mike.

I came up with the metaphor of getting David Beckham to stand in the middle of a stadium with no balls, no players, no audience. What do you want him to do? Mow the grass?

My third day of termination of my recent job. I'm very experienced. People turn their backs and avoid me, with heads down. Nobody knows what they want. What am I supposed to do?

No direction. I come up with ideas. They get turned down

My vocab is wide. I'm articulate. Maybe that's my fantasy imagination. My vocal doesn't include 'hello, awrite. how are you?' It uncludes anything like that

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that uncludes chit-chat like that. Working as a cashier in a supermarket makes it unavoidable however.

You are indeed an articulate man Mike. It's not just your fantasy imagination.

I'm trying to speak more professionally and politely. In the past, I have been criticized for having no manners. Plus some people (i.e. my boss) think I sound like a kid, even though that was not my intention. I'm trying to lose my southern accent and adopt a mainstream English accent.

If you like doing something, do it. It's what makes you you, after all, and for every personality there's a group of people who share the same. I'm not entirely sure what you mean though. Do you mean a different 'unique' language altogether, or just speaking properly? In regards to the former, it may just alienate you more from people. If getting looks from people, mocking, etc doesn't concern you, then go for it. But if your SA is dependent on moderating the amount of embarrassment you experience, then perhaps you'll have to weigh how much you speak it in public. I'm all for people being who they are, so personally I'd enjoy it and wouldn't find it weird. At least I don't think. But it's not as simple when it comes to those who don't have SA and won't understand or be as accepting.
