It's so annoying that i have a hard time making eye contact even with my sister and parents. It's strange because there are a few people i work with and i have no trouble at all but others including my family is a different matter. I actually feel like i am not good enough to look into someones eyes.

I understand where you are coming from. Sometimes you just can't do it! You look like a handsome man, but even if you weren't you would still be as equal as everyone else!

I have contended with that problem my whole life. I think it's caused by some deeply ingrained negative perceptions about yourself, perhaps the way you look. You should find what it is, and question the validity of that belief.

I don't like making too much eye contact when talking to a guy, makes me feel gay. (<,<) And I'm not sure how much eye contact with a girl is.. too much.

I can't make eye contact unless I know exactly how it is going to be interpretted and have practiced for that situation.
I.e. at work it is always the same sort of stuff.

Outside of that very limited subset of situations I either can't make eye contact, burst out laughing, or (apparently) get an expression that makes me look like I want the other person to drop dead and rot away into a pile of slime.

Yeah, I come accross as totally insane sometimes. Hmmm.

Making eye contact is not at all natural for me. I have to look around or I'll drift off and think about more interesting and important things. I try to do it just for other people so they don't hate me.

I am the worst at making eye contact. I couldnt even tell my parents and my brothers what color their eyes were. They asked because they said "Why dont you look me into the eye?". Now since they said that, I ahve noticed that I have a very hard time looking someone straight into the eyes. When I do, I think its the most awkward thing ever haha.

I never know how long i'm supposed to make eye contact for. I always pretend like i'm looking at something else so I can break eye contact with the person I'm talking with. I wish I was able to make eye contact with a girl for a long period of time.

Something strange happened today. I had parked my car on a street and was eating something and relaxing, when I suddenly saw a girl looking me straight in the eyes. She kept on staring shamelessly and relentlessly. She too was sitting in her car. It was annoying, I glanced back a few times, but I was the first to look away. I'm always the first to look away. I felt pathetic.

he or she was probably just looking at her reflection. It was probably just a bad timing fluke. Ive had similar experiences and I gaurantee that the person was looking at something else. It is kinda weird though that it looked like she was staring right at your eyeballs though. You really shouldnt worry about it

^ I don't know, but it wouldn't matter, since my extreme shyness is a major turn off. People notice this very soon.
