I've been told I have a "cartoon" voice, whatever the hell that means. Maybe I should get into voice acting. Anyway, your voice is what it is. You shouldn't have to change it, and if you do maybe you could just take of smoking. My voice also gets lower after a night of heavy drinking, but I wouldn't recommend doing that too much.

Of all the most RIDICULOUS and RETARDED anxieties! This is soooo STOOOOPID! Whenever I am on the phone people think I am a woman. Do I give a FUCK? NO! Get OVER YOURSELF! There are MORE IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE THAN A GIRLIE-VOICE!!!! LIKE CAPITALIZING LETTERS!!!

Seriously, you are a total douche.

I really hate the sound of my voice too, it just sounds so girly and stupid :( and i am a 19 yer old male.

I will avoid talking as much as possible, and when i have too, i will try and control it by making it sound deeper. But then i worry that the deep voice sounds rude, so i soften it and end up sounding like a ponce :x .

i have like 9 personalities and 16 voices, one of them is nearly girlish i guess. while other sounds like a 60 year old man in benzos, usually i just use the girlish ones when i sing. i think when i talk normally this swicth from 3 to 4 voices wih are myself.

lol, class !! This thread is funny.

I'd really like to hear your rude, deep voice. I can't imagine what a ponce is suppposed to sound like.

But enough frivolity.

A couple of weeks ago, I read this:-http://homepages.tesco.net/nick.hanlon/splchange.htm (click the section on "Speaking With Confidence"). It was quite interesting to realise how your posture can make your voice can sound weak and weedy or more powerful with resonance. I've been consciously using this tip since. I dunno, maybe I now talk like a resonant ponce but I don't let it worry me.

I don't like my voice either, though other people claim it sounds cute. :S So now I don't care... My hearing might be different from others.

Using all caps doesn't compsensate for it ;)

I'm really insecure about my voice too, so I think it is somewhat common.

I only hate how there's really no bass to my voice.

But I can sing along with a lot of that power metal that I'm fond of. Not particularly well, but at least I can hit most of the notes.

I worry more about my accent than the pitch and timbre of my voice. Damned Philadelphian accent.

Most people can't interpret what I'm saying due to my EXTREMELY low voice and it just annoys me. I sound like a 50 year old and I'm only 20!

I don't like the sound of my voice either. Last year and the year I've been told I'm the only one in my class with a low voice like that. Some may see it as a compliment, well I don't. I could die when giving speeches, and a voice like that is not making it easier. :( Through mobile it sounds higher though. But I think everyone has that ?
