I got another speeding fine and points

:mad:I just got another speeding fine and three points this morning from the Police. The fine is not bad but the extra 3 point on my licence on top of the 3 i already had means that i can no longer train to be a driving instructor, as the maximum allowed to train is 3. So basically i'm unemployed and i have no hope of doing something which will give me a career. I have also wasted £2,500 on the training which i've been slowly doing over the past three years.

I hate the f###ing Police, i mean if they got off their ass#s and went out and caught real criminals; Rapists, murderers, thieves instead of making money on vunurable motorists i would respect them more.

It's all about the money nothing else! It's not as if i was doing anything dangerous i merely did 39mph in a 30mph zone.

I'm sorry to hear about this recluse! *HUG*
I am guilty of speeding myself, I love the control I have behind the wheel, it's too easy to speed!
I'm not sure what the laws are there but will this fine get erased after a certain amount of time? Maybe you still have a chance to be a driving instructor.

Sorry to hear about that!

I think its fair to say 90% of motorists speed sometimes (if not regularly!) so its just about luck, which is stupid.

I've been lucky not to get any points so far, but I've had a close call with a mobile speed van once or twice!

When do your first 3 points run out? If it's not long you should be able to continue your training without too much of a wait?

I'm not sure what's going to happen regarding the driving instructor training, i'm going to contest against the points, i've heard that you can do a course to avoid the points.

I think it's 3 o'r four years i'm not too sure, all i know is that 12 points in a space of 2 years get's you a ban here in the Uk.

It's rediculous how they say ''You were speeding!'' as if you were doing 100mph o'r something! If only the police know that i have been driving at 130mph in my other car, but please don't tell them! ::p:

I personally do not get the point of speed cameras!
I mean I don't want them to not warn us about them (as I dont really watch my speed...ooops), but I mean you see the sign, you see the speed camera you slow down.
On my way home from work today I was going the 'long' way which the road's speed limit is 40 and it has two speed cameras, everyone went over 40 and slowed down for the speed cameras. Honestly what is the point in them being there?!
Recluse, you can pay to get the points off, after so many years, but Im not sure how many years. If I got 6 I would have to re-sit my test since I only passed in Feb!

It's ok! I'm going to be doing a 'speed awareness course' so i i still pay the fine but i don't get the points:)

Yeah it's a fairly new scheme where you can opt to do a three hour course to teach you about speed awareness and it's costs £60 which is the same as the fine but you avoid getting the points on your licence. The catch is that you can only do it once every three years so if i'm caught again after doing the course i will get points with no choice.

It's kind of a £60 slap on the wrist from the Police for being naughty:D
