You're absolutely right about how I have to be interested in the topic. At first I was gonna go with something more technical like "design of aerial collision avoidance systems", because I am in an engineering class and I thought the evaluators would like it. But the topic is just so dry and tedious I don't think even they can stay focused during my talk

I love your suggestions! The torture device one is totally something I'd do, except I don't know a whole lot about them and I don't know where to start.

but I'd love to see the faces of the audience when they hear ECTs or torture devices, after suffering through stuff like "windows 7 vs. vista", "spread spectrum tranceivers" and "network security technologies". it'd be hilarious in that context. I'd probably wear a suit to the presentation too.

And they came up with some really elaborate stuff, too. As a mattrer of fact, part of your presentation could be centered around how to create one of the devices. I want to be around people, when I sit in class by myself, I feel so nervous, sad, and lonely.

I feel the same way when I am studying at home, specially when I tried to study with one of my friend, he told me don't sit with him because of my Tourette's Sydrome, I felt worse.::

Everyday I sit in class and try to get it over with as fast as possible. I actually went up to people after class and tried to start a conversation, it worked with one person and the other didn't really engage into the conversation ( so forget him) they were both guys as I am too shy to go up to a girl, she might think I like her or something and I wouldn't want her to think I'm hitting on her or anything, I'm just trying to make friends. Then the other day, a guy came up to me after class and introduced himself to me, that was great There are girls that I find attractive physically and to their personalities, but I am only looking to make friends and have failed so far. I hate being on campus because all the other students are so happy and seem oblivious to everything else, whereas I'm unhappy, frustrated, anxious, and seem to be aware of everything thats going around. I feel so invisible, nobody cares

No I didn't, I can't study with anybody, when I'm around people while studying, my mind can't focus, so I study alone
