Hello, all!
I've been away from this site for a while. If any of you remember me, hello again. If not, it's nice to "meet" you.
Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but... Does anyone here have the "Highly Sensitive Person" personality type? After a particularly nasty bout of depression a few months back -- I have chronic depression and cope with it pretty well, but this one was worse -- I did a bit of research and talked to a therapist and realized that I do. It wasn't something I'd thought might reflect my issues previously because so much of the media/popular discussion of HSP is around the physical elements of it -- unusually acute chemical sensitivity, and acute sensitivity to sounds, textures, etc. -- which is NOT my case. But it also can just mean feeling feelings more intensely -- being "too sensitive" and taking things "too personally". It was a relief to realize that this (like my depression) was a part of my basic makeup.
