How to become popular

What is it that makes a person popular? What do you think is his/her secret? Is it looks, being outgoing or funny? Something else?

And how do they avoid themselves being sticky. I mean they gotta try getting attention all the time, right? So how do they get the balance?

I think it's self confidence. People are naturally attracted to someone with confidence, often without realising it.

They have lowest-common-denominator interests and conversational skills, a juvenile sense of humor, and clothes and a look that establish them with an "in" group. They're either naturally stupid, or have done their best to suppress any hint of individuality, intelligence or sanity. They're also outgoing and confident, frequently to the point of aggressive behavior. Some take the politician's approach and do a lot of lying, manipulating and deal-making to get people to like them.

Titanic was popular... Porn is popular... Hitler was popular... the macarana was popular..

Its alot to do with self-image to, as long as someone has a good body and nice face their world seems brighter, no matter what the hell their personality is like.
I have a friend-ish whos popular, hes ugly but the loudest person ever!

so being loud and hot.
