How do you meet girls / boys?

Hello everyone,

Recently broke up with my gf, which means I have to start with the tedious process of meeting new girls...
How do you cope with the issue and meet the opposite sex?

I use manga, fantasy, and imagination as an escape. Then once the pain died down a bit, I slowly dip my toes into reality.

Sort of on the same boat except its been a few months for me without gf, and before that years ...I don't really know, I suppose you have to expose yourself i.e. get out there as much as possible because the more you're out there the more your chances increase of meeting someone, even if only slightly. i don't really have any ideas of where to 'go' to mingle with other people. Bars aren't exactly places where I like to hang, not my type of crowd, not to mention they're ridiculously expensive. Also its tough when you don't really have many friends who like to go out and things.
