Homesickness

I'm renting and living in a small apartment in a city, because my school is there. I've been living there for nearly two years, but I have become increasingly uncomfortable/miserable there. It feels like a cage. I'm isolated from my family, I have no friends who visit me, I don't leave the apartment. I mostly spend my time on the computer, or watching TV.

I visit my parents every weekend, and I'm looking forward to that all week, from the moment I return to the apartment on Sunday. I miss living with my parents. I'm just so much happier there, and if I could, I'd move back in.


Does anyone else suffer from homesickness?

hm, I wish I could move away from parents again, I miss the city with way more opportunities and interesting things to do!
Maybe I do feel a bit 'homesick', but I'm actually home, sorry if this doesn't make sense

At times I did feel a bit lonely in the city too, when friends were not in town etc. Can you sign up for an interesting course/pilates/dance classes/volunteering/work/anything where you could meet some interesting friends?

Do you live high up in a skyscraper? People are more likely to visit in you live lower down (so they don't need to climb so high), some neighbourhods can be more 'lively' and some more calm too...
Or you could 'bribe' people to come by offering 'pancake night' or such? (Sometimes food needs to be involved) And/or interesting activities... You could also maybe deepen existing friendships/acquaintances...

Have you tried living with roommates/flatmates? I really liked most of my roommates and flatmates in the dorm... Hope things get better!!

I am kind of in the same situation but only in the Opposite. I miss having my own apartment. It was nice and quite--- when I live there I had trouble getting around for myself. when I went into stores I could not read the signs right I would add wrong and try and pay to much or to little. So I miss living with my sister because she help me out with that stuff. I miss seeing my nephews and nieces all the time. But now I am regretting that because me and my sister or two different kind of people I am quite and lay back and she is a party animal. she party all the time with her friends all the time playing the radio really loud all night in tell 3 to 4 O clock in the morning. she has lots of friends over so it loud all the time. I can`t move in tell the lease is up so I have to wait for a year in tell I can move and I am worried how hard it going to be to find a apartment and a house for her. me and her is not very close anymore I guess it because we had to much of each other. Do you drive --- driving probly make thing easyer. If I could drive, it want matter where I live if I miss my family just get up and lock the door to my apartment and drive over their.
