Hey all

After many months of reading the posts here, I finally registered. I've never been diagnosed with SA, and am not quite sure if I have it, but definitely know I have some sub case of it.

I can relate to a lot of the posts here, and it definitely gives me comfort to know I'm not alone.

I look forward to talking to you all and learning more about this and finding ways to help.

Melbourne is such a great city, and I want to explore it as much as I can.

P.s. Could someone please tell me about how the medicard could help with doctors visits to deal with something like this, if at all?

Welcome to the site!

Medicare will cover all your GP visits. You are best off calling Medicare for more information about what else you are entitled to :).

I’m no expert but I can tell you about my experience. I went to the GP and they referred me to a specialist psychologist. The psychologist is covered under the medicare rebate scheme so majority of what I pay I get back from medicare. You are covered for 2 lots of six sessions per year. I had no idea I had SA before I went to see the psych.

Social anxiety or not, that's not majorly important, if you find comfort and understanding here, you belong. ~WO

(Thanks everyone for your comments).

Shredman, how did you approach your Dr? what did you say? and has it helped?. I don't know how to go about doing it. I feel like I would start crying if I was to bring up something so personal.
