I hope I can instill some relief in you by telling you you're probably going to be perfectly fine. I got in a fork in the eye before, and it hurt like hell, but I was fine. The only thing I would worry about with a finger is it might have a higher chance of infection. I would say don't go to the hospital unless your eye seems to get worse or stays the same, and not better. Hope you are okay and sorry about the bitch!

I stuck a piece of branch in my eye last year, it hurt and the inner corner was bloodshot for quite a long time, but luckily I didn't loose my eyesight. But I think you can damage your eyes by drinking too much alcohol for example, as the acidity of the body afflicts eyes as well. Or by having an accident and damaging the part of brain responsible for eyesight.

Thankfully eyes heal quite quickly but can be really painful. I scratched my eye with a piece of wood a few years ago, the best relief from the irritation I got was by wearing an eye patch for a couple of days. It stops you blinking and stops it watering as much.
