I would kind of like to be nocturnal. I was for a while. I work third shift at a job a few years ago for about a year and a couple months. Even on my off days I would usually maintain close to the same sleep schedule. I others and some times myself that I didn't want to through off my sleep patterns for when I would be back to work. But real it was mostly because I liked all the unencumbered alone time. Most of the world sleeping and I could just (more of less) do what I wanted (which usually didn't amount to much). Never really had a particular problem with day light I just prefer being up at night. I did hate trying to fall asleep while having to hear birds chirp.

I think I am becoming nocturnal...not tired at night anymore and can't get to sleep. If I didn't have to get up in the morning, I would stay up every night.

Yeah I agree with that. I generally don't get tired until pretty late at night, but even when I am tired I usually can shut my brain off to fall asleep for a long time. On weekends it really annoys my girlfriend because I often stay up a while after she goes to bed, but it's bad enough having to force myself to sleep on weekdays due to work I don't want to have to do it on weekends too.

I don't hate sunshine, quite the contrary, but I'm so used at "living" at night, feels like a calm calm world, way more relaxed than during the day, as I wanna enjoy that mood for as long as possible, result = I say up all night, and fall asleep just before sunrise.

Ive been doing a lot of night shifts at work recently. Find it helps being in a smaller group of people at work but it does in a way make it worse by reducing the amount of social exposure you get. None the less, its a place to start I feel and that's why im doing it, so hopefully can build confidence within a smaller environment before moving back to the more normal and people-filled shifts.

I'm slightly nocturnal. I find during the night I stop telling myself what I "Should" be doing, or that I'm a loser because everybody is at school or work while I'm not. It's a lot less daunting. I'm also more relaxed when I'm tired, so the night welcomes me.

Find myself more relaxed in the night when things are a bit quieter, less pressure from other people. I can't always get to sleep as early as I'd like which is annoying so often easier just to go with a sleep cycle thats working at the moment while I study. Don't enjoy sleeping during the day though.

I love the night too, dark, and I feel more concentrated, I can also study better at night, dunno why?, but I'm not tired fast. But my depression can kick in anytime, in daylight or in darkness, it doesn't matter.

I love the night. There was a point in time where I slept during the day and was up during the night. But it was rather chaotic.. Turned into major insomnia for a long time.

Now I've set a limit. I have as a rule that if stay awake after 5:00AM, I have to wait till nighttime again before I can go to sleep. Otherwise I might ruin my pattern again.

Heh yeah I tried that setting a rule for sleep at one point as well, but I ended up with the worst sleeping pattern ever. Lucky now I have a job with working hours of 00:00-09:00 I can sort of stay up all night anyway. To be honest with the way things are for me now I dont see myself coming off these hours for a very long time. It's just so relaxing and peaceful during these hours. Really no stress at all.
