Patrick, it's always easier to hook up with new girls when you have a girlfriend. Something about being hitched makes you appear more attractive. And since most girls are very competitive, some of them even get their emotional validation from being able to steal someone else's guy.

If you respect your girl, you'll be flattered by the attention but not pursue it. However, it sounds like you're not totally happy with your current relationship. If that's the case, then you need to man up and stop stringing her along.

I'd say, doing this once for a life lesson is forgivable if you learn from it. Making a habit of it is just wrong to me. Having it happen to you on the flip side is probably one of the worst feelings ever, especially if you're loyal throughout a relationship. Karmas a bitch like that though. :]

Chances are this girl is going to get bored with you or you her and you'll end up wondering why in the hell you did what you did, alone. Then maybe you'll have to deal with an angry mob of friends of your ex.
