Do you ever get trapped in negative day dreams? Like situations/events that play out in your mind & it seems they go on forever...
When I was able to see a counselor a trick he suggested was giving myself a short time frame (5 or 10 min?) to indulge the thoughts & at the end of that to force myself to think of something else. The reason I post this is because I was told that I 'Romanticize' my thoughts. And it really can be a serious problem because the longer you thing about/indulge in thoughts like that it becomes really hard to stop your brain. I still DO it... but thoughts that might seriously upset me I definitely use the trick & it helps divert my attention. As a method of re attaining control.
Now if only I could become motivated & social
