Ever notice...?

How other people seem to throw around certain slang terms like "dude" or "man" in a completely natural way, but when you or I say something like "hey man, what's up?" it feels weird? I live in the US, so maybe people in the UK have different variations, but you know what I mean. They must be words that show that you're comfortable with people, and not socially robotic.

I sorta know what you mean. I always feel like an idiot sometime, when i use those words cause then i think i sound immature. And doesn't fit well with the monotone-robocop voice.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Though, I don't often say these words. I think they might be more of a 'guy thing.'

lol yea. I use those terms in a funny way, not a serious way. I answer the phone with "yo!" sometimes. And I say certain phrases, from all eras! Just for fun, it's good time.... yo. 8O

About the only ones I use slang around is my family. Other people I'm about more careful around, although "Cool" and "Yo" have slipped out on occasion.

I usually have the same problem, but when I say "Dude" or other slang terms without really thinking about it, it seems to come out right.
