Do you know how to have fun

Interesting question. I don't think I really know how to have fun...I see people around me who seem to have intuitive knowledge of how to do it. I think it comes from just getting enough social practice and observation to know that you can let your inhibitions go. Exposing yourself to fun-loving people over time, slowly but surely, should do the trick.

When I think of fun, I think of people smiling, which makes me think of laughter. Things like comedy clubs, improv classes, comedy movies, etc. are perhaps good for those of us who need some help loosening up and having fun :)

I know how I like to have fun, and I can see how other people where I live have fun. I just don't fancy doing the things that they do, because none of that stuff is fun to me.

No, I don't. It leaves me too vulnerable, to like and enjoy doing things. It would show my true colors around other people, which is something I have great difficulty doing. When I'm by myself I'm more at ease, I still have a hard time enjoying myself. I don't really like me, so it's no wonder I don't like spending time with me ::p:.

While I was going to therapy something he told with me has stuck with me, that I'm bored with myself. I rarely takes risks or try anything new, and I'm very cautions when I do. Maybe I'm so bored because I never leave my comfort zone, which is where all the fun is.
This is very much how I used to be (and to some extent still am). Even now I suppose I don't entirely relax and just have fun with other people except my friends of 20+ years.

About the comfort zone thing--there's definitely fun outside of the comfort zone. It's just unmapped territory, and like on the old maps when people didn't know what was there, they'd put 'Here there be dragons!'. There's nothing as drastic as dragons, of course, but there are a few lions and tigers and bears--you just have to learn how to avoid or otherwise deal with them and know where the good stuff is.

Excellent vid, Phoenixx. Thank you. :)

So long as it's organized fun that has been pre-planned and expected and controlled. And on my terms, in my safe zone, haha :) jk It's hard to let your guard down but when you do and disastor doesn't strike, it's invigorating-the best feeling in the world, where others walk away chuckling. You feel a sense of achievement and there's a confidence boost for facing your demons. And with confidence you can start to face you fears head-on. So yea I try have fun when I can. And the endorphins are good for you too.

We have so much more to gain from fun than other people. It makes them smile it's gives us a real buzz and confidence. I do think laughter is the best remedy for nearly everything. Stress is destructive and rarely useful, counterproductive. Way more useful to have fun when you're down than to sit about stressing. It does a lot more for you
