I don't believe in god.

But if god does exist, I'm pretty sure he/she/wtv isn't like any religion describes him. In fact, religion is pure cancer and we should have treated the tumour a long time ago.

But, since this is a topic about a "higher" power, I'll not get any further on the religion topic.

Anyway, I would say nature or the universe are the most godlike things I can think about.

Not Sure.

I hate the topic of this simply because of how loaded a topic it is. People get so emotional over it and do stupid things with it. I'm probably projecting here, I've had serious issues with this in the past. I used to believe 100% in a God. A lot of things have happened, though.

Personally, I think anything's possible, and I like to keep it at that. I don't like "yes" or "no" options, I'm more comfortable with third options.

If there's one thing I can state openly, it's that if there is a God, "Free Will" dominates everything. If there is a God, he/she just doesn't do anything. Whether he/she is incapable, unwilling, or whatever, he/she just doesn't do anything. Why are there such bad things that happen in the world? Because he/she just lets people roam and do whatever. Call this a misanthropic statement, but human beings (or really, any other animal) just aren't fit to run a world. A God that might have created the world would be more suited for the job.

But, whatever. Unless something fantastic happens on December 21, 2012, or anything superstitious of the like actually coming true, I wouldn't count on anything actually changing.

And there's my opinion on God. You probably don't want to hear my opinion on religion.

I believe God is a sign of hope to humanity. I also believe the bible is just a set of rules to follow to live a healthy, happy life. Mind you a lot of it needs to be subject to change, but the principle remains. I often find myself blameing God for my problems when I'm to stubborn to blame myself. I guess that's just my own personal way of finding hope in this hard world we live in.

no!

also "I'm talking about God and not religion." is nonsense

In my opinion, western society has no use for religion at this point. We are instructed in human decency anyway, and we have tons of other things to conform to for social interaction at this point - in my opinion, all religion is good for now, is easy political spin, kinda like Bush scored tons of easy votes in the 2001 elections

I have to disagree. In the "western world" depression and suicide are going up and up. Why? Because our culture tells us that we'll finally be happy once we get that new smartphone or video game system or when we make tons more money - thousands of years ago people like Jesus, Sidartha Guatama and Lao Tsu saw this happening and tried to tell people that it's a bad way of thinking. (they were right). I'm not religious in any sense but these "religious teachers" helped me overcome depression and even lower my social anxiety. People in western society could learn a ton from the religions of the world.

Totally agree with you. People are constantly looking for happiness outside of themselves when its really inside of them ....im guilty of it for now.

I really don't know. I'm kind of at that point in my life where I am really questioning things and trying to figure stuff out. I am not religious though, just kind of wandering around.

I suppose I do believe in god. Whenever I am so down, I talk to god...Not often, but when I do it makes me feel better. I don't pray or anything like that though. Religion turns me off (ah, all the social interaction I am missing out on! When I used to attend church, wow, there was always something social planned--fairs, retreats, potlucks, prayer groups etc. A bunch of hypocrites though. Anyway...)

I have been wanting to build my spiritual side. I do feel that would help make me feel better. Not following any particular religion though!

No, I don't believe in God, at least not in any religious sense. I do find the concept of a God interesting on a metaphysical level, and God to me is just a metaphor for everything in existence and how it's all connected.

I absolutely despise organized religion and think it is an archaic and primitive form of controlling people which has no place in a world as enlightened as the one we live in today. Personal beliefs, however, I have nothing against.

New Testament is quite good - in fact I am influenced by this philosophy a lot. What I don´t like about Bible is the animal sacrifices and crap like that, but the second part of Bible is fine.. I don´t see behind the scenes yet but there are chances that there is something about it.

I voted 'yes'. I somehow doubt that the universe (and more importantly: The physical laws) were created out of nothing just like that.

OK, so if they were created by God. To have created these incredibly complex physical laws, God himself must be at least as complex a creation, right? So something must have created him, since we've already established that such complex things cannot just be created out of nothing. Which means God must have had an equally or more complex creator. You can see where this is going?

I think the only way out of this recursive situation is that God must be a turtle, and it's turtles all the way down. :)

On a good day I don't believe in God.

On a bad day I believe there is a God and he hates me.

(But I like the catheist idea)

Yes, I do. I no longer participate in organized religion where its usually a breeding ground of close-minded people, prejudice and hatred.

We human beings cannot comprehend GOD. All you have to do is to trust him because he does.....
