hello king flab
Sorry hun bin my doctors today to see what surgery i had and it was the excission of the sweat glands not the cutteage like i thought. Have you heard of the sweat glands growing back after this procedure my doctor was pretty shocked they grew back he said this surgery is suppose to offer permanent relief. And do you know if you can have this procedure done twice ive looked on the internet and alot say the results are permanent and doesnt say if it can be done again. Just wondering if you knew or does any body else know

When I contacted the surgeon I'm going to see, his secretary told me that the procedure can be repeated - but they've never ever had anyone go back to get it repeated. I too am quite suprised that the glands have grown back as they're really not supposed to. I don't see why you couldn't have curettage performed, the newer procedures are non-invasive meaning the complications should be slight at best. I'm not entirely sure who to recommend you speak to though as getting hold of any professionals on this subject is bloody hard.

So do they do the excission where your havin your operation done. Where is it are having it done at have you got the number im going to ring up for advice thinking of getting a loan to have it done. My doctor was shocked to that it has come back is curettage supposed to be permanent. I just dont know what to do at the minute thats why i need advice ive bin told excission is the best for offering permanent results but it hasnt done that for me. Im also wondering if i had done again what are the chances of it coming back for a second time. I wish i knew someone who has had it done or a doctor who could tell me. Do you know anybody on here who had the excission

Hey, I'm getting it done at the London Clinic, chap called Doctor Payne does it. The phone number is 020 7224 1228

The problem is, there's little data on it available on the internet, and most of the Doctors who do know anything about it are hard to get in contact with. For a start, it's costing me about £550 for the procedure, £390 I think just for consultation with Payne, and £100 for anaesthetic... £390 just to speak with the Doctor!

Yeah, I live in the North West too, but I'm willing to make the trip now to get it done professionally. There'll be hell to pay if it doesn't work :p

Could you not find a surgeon nearer ive bin lookin it up and ive heard some good stuff about it i heard if it doesnt work the 1st time it does work the second time no one has had it done more than twice. Cant seem to find anywhere nearer tho found alot advertising it in america and liposuction under the arms which is way to far to go. I might give them a ring. Have u had the consultation with the doctor or do u have that the day of the operation londons a bit far to go to discuss a operation. Im seriously thinkin of havin this done when are you having it done so you can let me know if it works. Id rather get someones opinion whos had it done themselves rather than lookin it up cause they all tell you diffrent things

Yeah, they've booked me in for consultation and the procedure on the same day, mainly due to the difficulties it would cause if I had to travel down to London twice. I did have a look for somebody closer, but I couldn't find anybody who performs retrodermal curettage. Like you said though, there are plenty of people who do it in America.

My procedure is on April 22nd, so it's some way away yet, but I'll be sure to let the forum know how it goes.

yeah i asked is it possible if the sweat glands grow back and she said no body has been back to have it done for a second time every ones always happy with the results. I was a bit concerned about the scars ive already got and if they could still do it and they said that aint a problem. Not keen on the doctors name tho doctor payne lol

I just asked her how long i would be in and if the glands can grow back. That was it really we could with askin someone whos already had it done if it works but no one seems to have it done i think it must be a newish procedure. Ive read some stuff on the net and it is suppose to work but ive also red excission works permanently but mines grown back. I know at that clinic they do the scrape some others do the scrapeing or suction or a bit of both well ones in america cant find anywhere in the uk that do it.

Har. Well it's supposedly not very invasive, it's just meant to leave a little hole/scar thing, but nothing extreme.

alrightie guys ...been meaning to post in this thread
Im booked into have it done in May with Dr Payne and I know another girl who is in April. fingers crossed goes well for all of us.

Brunettee - I see you mention earlier about the BO problem aswell which is half the reason Im going in (half hh half bo) ...do you mind me asking what your problem in this area is ?
like for me if I sweat really a bit I begin to smell real quick ...and my sweat seems to be more sticky ...basically I think Ive got overactive or more apocrine glands.
Im really hoping Dr Payne can get rid of all of these as that is the main thing I think to sorting this for me (and also the girl going in has same sort of problem).

Apparently the best procedure to curing the BO problem is the skoog procedure which is similar to this but more invasive and using different tools. But unfortunately is hard to find a dr who does it and I think theres only 2 in the usa who do it.
But I think if Dr Payne does this well then it should also solve the problem.

Flab - I don't reckon you'll have any worries about it not working for you where your problem is just HH ...I don't think Ive read anywhere of it not working for anyone really (or certainly not after a 2nd time...and it rare for anyone to need to have it done a 2nd time)

Aye, we'll just have to see how it goes. Thats at least four of us booked in now I take it? We ought to get Dr Payne to send us all a thankyou know, he's had more advertising done in this thread than the entire interweb combined :p
