cell phones; do you rely on them much?

I have a prepaid cell phone that I use for emergencies only. Everyone else who calls (which isn't often) calls on my landline.

I use mine as my mp3 player, portable e-book reader, listen to Pandora, and watch Netflix at work on lunches. I pretty much use it for everything other than actually making calls on it.

I use it to check time and its number to insert some form when necessary so have totally no use for phones.

Remember when people were called elitist pricks for having one of those PDA's? That's basically what modern cellphones are. Heck, at one point even basic call-only cellphones were considered an elitist thing. Just because most people have changed their mind doesn't mean everyone has to succumb to the trend.

I like the idea of having a pocket computer/hand held gaming device that also check my mail and makes calls if I have to, but that doesn't mean you have to also. Harmless diversity aught to be a good thing. The people whom give you those responses are inconsiderate idiots.

I'd love to not have one, I never use it, but my parents would pressure me to get one incase they need to call me or if there's an emergency or something. It's not like you're ever more than 3 feet from someone with a phone you could borrow anyway if you absolutely had to.

i use my cell phone a lot, but only text my boyfriend or my mom. occasionally get phone calls (usually telemarketers or whatever) and on rare occasion phone calls for jobs i applied to. but i dont use it for much other than to talk to my bf
