I've been stalling mines for over a month now. I'm just not looking forward to it at all. Not exactly sure when I'm gonna take it, but it should be done by this time next week.

Me too. Specifically my thyroid. And to see if my meds are doing anything unwanted to me inside.

Ohh needles.. :| I know how u feel...
But Just think like this, it's a normal thing, u wont die, its just something what happens to ppl every single day ;)
its just a few seconds.. And its good to do a blood-test
Cuz U will have more information about your health :)
Good luck!!!! And think of something you really like.. while it happens.
that helps!!! :)

Its called "Blood-Injury-Phobia". I'm currently in treatment for it. The treatment consists of exposure and tension techniques to raise your blood pressure so you dont black out.

ive had lots of jags, the one your talking about will probably just be to your wrist, and its over in a couple of seconds max usually. its the thought of it more than the pain for me. maybe try looking in another direction when its happening. or as saskia sais try thinking about something else at the time

i had a jag for vertigo, through my bum cheek and right into the fkn bone! ah tell ye, it might not of cured my vertigo but it gave me something else to think about for a good few hours

I just got a blood test too recently for my medical exam, it will only feel a little pinch there's nothing to worry about. ^^

P.S. Just don't look at the needle and it'll be done before you know it.

I was scared out of my wits when I got my blood drawn for the first time. I was horrified at just the thought of them taking my blood. However, to my surprise, it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. My fears got the best of me. A nurse tried drawing my blood on two different occasions a while back, and was unsuccessful both times because my veins are so small and deep. The vein collapsed both times. I ended up going to the doctor and she had a different nurse draw my blood. She said that this nurse was the absolute best at it.

They had me lay down on the bed, while the nurse was looking for a vein and putting the tourniquet on. My doctor was at my head on the opposite side, holding my hand and talking to me. She was very helpful and reassuring. The nurse got a vein the first try. I was scared it was going to be very painful, but it wasn't. Just a little poke. I didn't feel anything else. I refused to look at them taking the blood, though. That part really does freak me out because I personally can't stand the sight of my own blood. I can see other people's and it doesn't bother me (unless they have AIDS or something, of course), but my own just creeps me out. Weird, I know.

Anyway, the whole experience wasn't that bad. I felt good afterward, actually. I felt accomplished. Especially since I had been putting it off for so many years. The results came back fine, which was my main fear. I was afraid they'd tell me I was dying or something. But nope. It was a good day.

I'm not a huge fan of needles but they dont bother me that much.

All I can say, is try to see them as a positive thing...which they are. they will give the doctor what he needs to know to help you maintain your health. Without them, he would have no way. They are on this earth to help, not hurt you.

I have to go at least every 6 months, because I'm anemic and they have to check up on the iron-level and other stuff in my blood. What's worse, that not only do I hate needles, but seeing the blood...

But lucky for me, my mom works at the hospital, so she's always there, when they draw my blood (3-4 vials).
