Being given a dirty look?

I remember after I took an exam out at my community college about a week ago, I was sitting in my car talking on the phone, and someone drove by in a car and seemingly gave me a dirty look. Thoughts on this? I mean, personal experiences.

I guess I was having a heated discussion with someone on the phone, and my facial expression might have come across as hostile, so that could have been the reason. It seemed directed towards me, but wasn't sure.

Yeah, I usually keep my reactions to myself. I just wonder why this happens. People have struck up conversations with me at college, so I dunno.

Consider that he might just have been having a bad day and you got caught in his glance. This happens to me a lot where i might just look serious and people will ask me why i am sad/angry when i'm neither one.

I don't think you should let it bother you:)

Yeah, I was trying to consider all the possible reasons before jumping to a negative conclusion. That's probably true, sometimes you're just "caught in the crossfire."

The person that gave you the "dirty look" may not have even been looking at you. I my self have a problem with thinking every one is looking at me or giving me dirty looks when I know its just part of my anxiety. I constanly feel uncomfortable around people because of that. and I over think why they may or may not have been looking at me.

Like someone else said to me in another thread:

How many of these people you meet on the street, do you actually remember?
Do you think they'll remember you?

It's not really worth it to bother about.

True, but trying to reason with extreme anxiety is futile, a lot of the time. Fortunately, this (situation) didn't create a panic, but just made me curious.

Yeah sometimes I have that feeling. The way they're looking at me its like I kicked thier dog or said something about thier mother, but given that I know I haven't done anything I know the look has nothing to do with anything I've done.

I (well at least I think) get them all the time. Mainly because I always look sad/depressed apparently, even though on the inside I feel happy. Oh well, no outward expression of emotions from me ::(:

Uh, nobody mentioned that it could have been because talking on the phone while driving is illegal? Unless you have hands free.

It is in the US as far as I know.

Never thought about that I just assumed they had been parked while on the phone from reading his post but you have a point. I have givien dirty looks at people driving while talking specialy if they did something like cut me off becaue they were not paying attention.
