I am NOT at all. Whenever I have a conversation and make eye contact I feel as if the person can see through me and see my discomfort. Any one who had this issue and got over it?

Absolutely not.
It's something I really have a problem with.
I start looking all over the place...everywhere but their eyes.
I went to the doctor the other day.And my nurse was absurdly cute.
She was talking to me telling me what might be wrong with me and my eye's where everywhere but in contact with hers.
And without even thinking or trying....
My eye's ended up starring directly at her crotch.XD
I was stopped there for a second or two before realizing where my eye's were pointing.
I'm not trying to be lewd or anything....**** was embarrassing.::(:
I always do that.....just kind of zone out.
Sometimes while pointing in the direction of certain things.::p:

Im extremely uncomfortable with looking people in the eyes,I always look all over the place and I look so awkward and uncomfortable. When I try to look them in they eye I end up just glancing and then looking away quickly. Its not so bad when people reciprocate the eye contact etiquette, look at their eyes for a few seconds then away then back and so on, but it seems like whoever I run into they look directly in my eyes and they DONT LOOK AWAY! Theres this one guy that does it and it makes me so uncomfortable I cant stand talking to him. For some reason I find girls do it a lot too,the rare time I ever talk to a girl they look me right in the eye and keep on doing so.

Same here dude...its seems that people look directly at my eyes and don't look away too. I hate that so much.... I think this is a self esteem issue? This is my main problem that I want to get rid off...my eye contact with people.

I am not particularly good at eye contact. Similar story.... a number of years ago I was at work in a disciplinary meeting with my surpervisor... after it was finished she accused me of staring at her breasts... I wasnt.... I mean I probably was looking at her chest, but I certainly wasnt OGLING her, nor was I aware of it at the time. I was quite shocked when she said so.

I am not the best at making eye contact when I am being told off for making mistakes and I learned my lesson that day to be careful where you direct your eyes. Intentional or not, you can still get in trouble.

I'm almost comfortable with the people I'm really close with like my best friend or parents but its impossible with others.

I have however been able to make my self stare at some people(That are glaring at me with the fury of 1000 suns it seems) until THEY look away.lol
I'm sure it comes off less like a casual/normal "yeah,I get what you're saying" eye to eye contact thing, and more like a angry stare down when I do that though.::p:
O_O
That's why they look away.

Hahaha! You show them who's boss Ghastly!

Nope. I feel like looking someone in the eye is a intimate thing, and when I do do it, it comes off as I'm hitting on them. I can't seem to do the simplest thing right. lol

I used to have a problem with this, but I'm much better now. I still have problems depending on the person and what I'm talking about, but it happens to everyone, so I'd say that I'm comfortable now.

Sometimes but it varies depending on the situation. I'm ok with my family and some friends but with people I have just met or don't know very well I find it more difficult to maintain eye contact.

I don't really feel the need to stare at people in the eye when talking to them. Just look in their general direction and occasionally glance at their nose/forehead kind of area, that looks like you're then looking at their eyes.

I used to. No problem at all, now. In fact... I get intense with them. I stare THEM down! HA HA! Tables are turned now, you silly normal people!

But seriously, I've had that happen before. I got used to making eye contact by forcing myself to do it, and apparently me mustering the will power to maintain that eye contact resulted in a look that made some people feel uncomfortable.
