Anyone lost their jobs? House? or having a hard time finding a job?

I can't believe this has to happen right now... Just when I graduate from high school, the whole economy crash... I'm already have difficult finding a 1st job and now! It's like the whole world is looking for jobs. How the hell am i suppose to compete with those people out there. They have more experience than i do, and plus have better social skills than i have. Why the **** did this have to happen right now! Life is so ****ing unfair...

What the hell did i do to deserve this. Why can't people stop being so ****ing greedy! If people stop being so greedy we wouldn't be in this mess. I swear to god, I can't even get hired at a fast food restaurants, How lame is that!? I've been told that it wasn't hard at all to get hired there. But still no one want's to hire me. DAMN IT ALL~!

Yeah, my Dad lost his job back in September and he still hasn't got a new one. We've been living off of unemployment and credit cards since then. It just adds to my stress, worrying about my parent's losing the house. I'm really worried because the unemployment checks end in a couple of months and I don't think my Dad is going to be able to find a good job, or any job for that matter. Shitty times we're living in.....

Im too poorly to work right now...But the goverment are looking to boot as many people off benefits as possible, sadly even the people who really need it and depend on it.ill be going to my 2nd medical in like 6 months soon.

On top of that because of goverment cutbacks in the menthal health services..Ive lost my cpn..(basicaly like a social worker),and from seeing a physchiatrist every month, ive bene told i only need to see one every 6 monts..my last one was in June and im still trying to get in grr..Oh and its part of my court order i see both

The goverment suck..all they will be doing is shifting people who are ill, onto another type of benefits, job seekers allowance who arnt acualy well enough to work. But i guess it will look good when they say we have got how ever many off incapacity and looking for work

Anyway rant over sorry :D

It seems to me that its worse having SP at times like this because employers can afford to be chosey when hiring. If the choice is between some confident guy with plenty of referances or the quiet, nervous one who are they more likely to choose. I remember the last time I went on unemployment, they made me do a three week course. Three weeks of forced socialising and speaking in front of people, I tell you that felt like forever.

The current situation is especially cruel for people like us. The competition is harder and I couldn't even compete when there were begging for jobs.

Things are going to get alot worse though. Alot worse. Be as prepared as possible. I think it's hard right now though because its somewhere in limbo, but when this finally all plays out, its going to be a new world. Basic, simple physical jobs will be the norm. Survival will be the norm and I think alot of us will actually shine in that type of environment. Once all the bullshit clears out, we are on even footing with everyone else.

Yep. The business I worked for laid me off in mid-November due it the economic situation.

I'm hopefully returning to the same job in a couple of months - just need to survive 'til then.

I have my fingers crossed as it was a perfect job for a SA'er. The thought of finding another job is not an encouraging one.

I've been off work for a year due to an injury there, I was only working at Starbucks so nothing special jobwise, my job is held open for me due to the injury (this is law in UK) but I'm guessing once I am well enough to return I'll barely be offered any hours there as they were cutting back on hours even a year ago.

I'm considering going back into nursing training as I was doing this before I got custody of my children and had to dedicate time to them as they were emotionally distressed.

I've been through recessions before, I used to be an Electronics engineer, was constantly being made redundant! I suggest if anyone wants work then look to retrain into a career that there are openings in, or careers that there are always openings and demand for:
undertaker, midwife, chef, doctor, dentist, chemist, care worker...candlestickmaker ;)
