Okay so i was wondering if anyone could relate. Lets say you go to a party, family gathering, etc. and it's time to leave. You try to leave and you keep getting nagged at like "already" or someone starts a conversation when you're trying to leave. Stuff like that. Well when that happens to me I get soooooo pissed off!!!! Some of you may think oh they like you yay! Well no they don't because it's obvious and i don't need to explain that part. Anyway yeah that's all : )

I can relate. I used to attend family gatherings, but I usually don't socialize with the relatives at all. When it comes time to leave, I was so delighted and was getting ready to go out the door. However, my dad would tell me to say goodbye to Each and Every One of my relatives! I have around 20 relatives on my dad's side, by the way. It stinks because I'm not close to those relatives and some of them dislike me with a passion. It's not fair that my dad doesn't force my brother to do this, and neither do my uncles or aunts force their children to go through this; my dad is delusional, he doesn't realize that the more he does this to me, the more I look like I'm sucking up to those arrogant relatives.

I know.. that bothers me too.
My physical health is not very good and I easily get a sore throat and get extremely tired and need to go home and just lay down. So when I visit family I usually go there with my mom in her car. And when I start to say "we should leave soon because I´m getting tired and the throat is acting up", my mom and everybody else will react like it´s the strangest thing and act all surprised that I get tired even though they already now how I am not doing so well. And my mom will take at least an hour to say goodbye to everyone and put on her jacket and shoes.

I mean WTF -- this is the kind of stuff that makes me enjoy solitude even more.

Oh yeah I have often been told by my mom to "say goodbye to everyone", which I always hated, because it was FAKE and I didn´t care about most of those people, and they CERTAINLY didn´t care about me either. It´s all about keeping up appearances. CONVENTIONS. I hate it oh so much.

I avoid this problem by refusing to attend. My family do get miffed but they get over it.
