Benzos alone wont kill you even full blister of them, might get you into coma or sleeping for couple days but you will live, and if looked into statistics id say more people die from food alergies, alcohol, smoking per minute then couple people per year from overdoing and mixing benzos.Yes it is addicting and tolerance grows fast on benzos like xanax, but for some people its only way to go through their daily life as a normal person without worrying constantly. There are people who are willing to tapper of person of any drugs and doctors who care about their patients, but abusive personalities soon find a way how to criminalize something, which only handfull of people would really need that sort of meds.

"Hospital emergency room visits for benzodiazepine abuse now dwarf those for illegal street drugs by a more than a three-to-one margin. This trend has been increasing for at least the last five years. In 2006, the U.S. government’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration published data showing that prescription drugs that year were the number two reason for ER admissions to hospitals for drug abuse, slightly behind illicit substances like heroin and cocaine. But a survey released by the agency earlier this year claims that benzos, opioids and other prescriptions meds are now responsible for the majority of drug-related hospital visits."

Here is the website that that information comes from, feel free to google more. There are plenty. America’s Most Dangerous Pill? Klonopin. CCHR International.

With all do respect man you have no idea what you are talking about. I have gone to rehab twice and met people desperately trying to get off these things. I have met people that have overdosed numerous times yet still continue to use them. I go to NA meetings at least 2 times a week and see desperate people trying to get off of them to no avail. I am lucky to be able to say I have been sober for just over a year and a half. A lot of people I have met haven't been so lucky and some have paid the ultimate price and guess what their deaths were directly linked to benzo use...especially mixing them with other drugs.

that's their problem, because they are junkies and addicts who use meds to get high or stoned, not to function properly in everyday life, but to get party ****ing high that's why they overdose, and ive no pitty for them, yes xanax visits to ER is in top ten list after coke and heroin abuse, but if it was so bad the drug would be put into the B drugs class same as morphine, which you wont buy even if you wanted to.Also there are stuff life clonazepam which works way longer and valium or even prozac,so theres many ways to tapper of without going on a rant what a killer drug this is when the person using it propably tried most of the street **** before hand.(sorry for cursing ) but thats my oppinion.
So dont tell me some sob stories about people who used benzos for 5 years until they realized they cant handle a day without them, when it clearly states on the fekcking package to use no longer than 3-6 months, and most reputable doctor wouldn't put you longer then two weeks on it after someone dies in your family to go through the grief not the anxiety. After saying this id rather see alcohol or tobacco banned or reduced in sales quantity. Its same idiots who smoke for ten twenty years and when they get cancer they sue the companies, because oh no they didnt know that it causes all kinds of cancer, what an Irony.

Like I said, say what you want about the moral character of people that abuse these pills....the truth is they do and they abuse them because they are very addictive and very dangerous....You can cuss all you want, I dont mind. All the swearing and insults included in your argument dont change the fact that Benzos are very dangerous drugs UNLESS YOU CAN TAKE THEM LIKE THEY ARE PRESCRIBED. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that cannot and there have been a lot of deaths as a result of it.

For someone that can take 10 mgs of xanax in a day, you certainly are very judgmental of people that do the same thing. You say you take Xanax because you NEED it to function properly in every day life....hmmm that's funny all the Benzo addicts I know or "junkies" as you put it say the same exact thing and guess what it is a bunch of BS. There are many other ways to deal with anxiety. You seem to only be defending it because you take it yourself and it makes you feel guilty when people talk bad about it. Can you control your benzo use? You started on .25 mgs and now you can take 10 mgs per day...that is a big increase....I am willing to bet you take it every day....maybe not to get high but to"function properly" right? 10 mgs is a lot bro....you are quick to judge those that think the same way you do.....a lot of people that are addicted to benzos dont take them to get high...the take them daily to avoid anxiety like you. Then they realize that when they dont take it on certain days things are worse....does that sound familiar?

First of all i dont want to repeat, benzos dont make you high, unless combined with pain killers.Secondly none of the benzo class drugs are recommended to be used longer then two to eight weeks,so if you would take that into account theres no real meds for anxiety, unless you believe its illness that only comes and goes within weeks or can be treated with herbs and hypnosis,or some sort of mind altering changing techniques AKA (holly grail) for book writers and sellers. As for me i also stated i only take it when needed,i wont lie i do take it to get to sleep sometimes, but wouldn't consider myself a junkie just occasional user like someone who has few beers a week that's it.Al tough my supply is that big that i could pop them like tick tacts every day .And as for mortality rate or ER visits give me a break, there's more people dying from aids, cancer, starvation or smoking that its irrelevant event to speak about.

Hi - I'm a recovered agoraphobe (20 free years!) and can tell you with certainty that Xanax delayed my recovery by probably years. I loved my xanax so. But she treats you bad, she does. It's turnaround is 7 hours and if you've been taking it for several months your body is addicted and when the 7 hours are up the demand feels exactly like anxiety. So when we're taking any of the benzodiaziapines we're taking a med that soothes anxiety and then creates it. I was bullheaded as hell about staying on but once I figured it out and went through the anxiety-producing period of slowly going off, guess what? No anxiety. I'm tellin' ya, don't mess with benzos unless you're doing them short term to, say, get ready for... I don't know. I can't really think of a good use for agoraphobes, especially. All I can say is I wish I hadn't started. Get the book "Life Unlocked" by Dr. Pillay and you'll get the anxiety relief just by starting on your recovery. Good luck. Hal

yeah read a book, listen to some hypnosis cd and you cured, maybe ask doctor for some aspirin aswell.DOnt want to sound rude but what idiot thinks that its such a simple solution.its not the way you think that causes anxiety its the way body reacts, fight or flight response, which was developed thousand years ago as protection of our own species,so unless your some magical person who can hold his heart beat or control his pulse or adrenaline release youd be a billionaire by now,try saying to a person who ha diabetes that he does no need insulin only to read some books and the way he thinks and hell be cured.
I admire people who managed to change their life style and conquer anxiety in natural way,but refrain from stories that some crack addict had a hard time coming of xanax when in the first place he was the one who took the pills, and if not stated by doctor its written on the leaflet hot to use it,when and all the side effects.Because this thread turns into topic as we would speak about heroin,or cocaine here, especially since most Americans see pot almost as a legal drug, but now you see every junky getting cards in California in ten minutes time because oh my they have a mild pain in their knee or some anxiety, but no alprazolam is worsen since its been researched for over 40 years when theres almost 0 information on the effects of weed that does more damage and addiction than any over the counter med.
Also the agrophobe here how did you manage to conquer your anxiety tell us more.
