Adventures of Kyle in the Oilsands.

Hello all,

I am working in Northern Alberta in the oil sands. This is possibly the most prosperous area of the industrialized world to work at the moment. I will tell you about my adventures, as I have social anxiety, and I work with some of the roughest necks around. It isn't fun, but I hope to survive and make a lot of money.

There's a lot of money to be made. Also a lot of stupidity when you stick a bunch of unsupervised men together. I'm looking forward to reading your experience  Stay warm.

Yes, there is a lot of stupidity. However, there are many good people too. I was having problems with a project manager, and I have to show confidence, as like many things in life, people tend to view my shyness as a weakness.

I was out in Calgary for awhile doing construction. The city was a nice change from where Ive come back to. I am glad I stuck it out for as long as I did. Even though it was one of the most stressful times of my life I actually got a ton of life experience, met a bunch of people and all around had a pretty good time. Not to mention made some money. So good luck man I know how crazy it can be down there. Where you staying, at a camp?

Yeah, at a work camp near Fort McMurray. Calgary is paradise, in comparison..
