Life is ever so joyous is it not? I jest, but to answer one of your questions, I can tell you that childhood innocence dies by the cold, unforgiving hand of reality and life. It truly is saddening to watch it fade away.

I teach, this is draining for an introvert. I have a fair amount of freedom, but the system is unnecessarily complex. I like simplicity.

I'm quite ignorant in this respect, but do you mean something like dealing with other faculty -- faculty meetings and the like?

Being the center of attention, speaking to the class, meetings etc; I can do all these easily now but they still take their toll.
