Hey everyone, ok so i know ive banged on about this before but it keeps jappening to me and i dont get it, this is what happens, i go in to a cafe or store and go to the person serving i say hello or morning and smile, they stare at me blank faced and say nothing, i then make my order then when im finished they say to the petson waiting good morning!! And smile!! This is the part where i have a internal panic attack and ask myself the words what the hell is wrong with me?!! Anyone know what im taking about? And does anyone have an answer?

Some people are just rude or they are inside their own heads too much and they don't have manners or aren't very nice...

It's nothing to take personally..

A good strategy is to know that you are worthy enough to believe it is the person who was rude with the problem and that you can still feel happy anyway..

I wouldn't worry about it..

It's pretty normal to deal with difficult people...

In fact it's comforting knowing that there are so many different sorts of personalities out there...

Conclusion: don't worry about it, move on, be strong. Relax.

Sounds like they are being rude. If your talking to someone and placing a order you should say something but don't confuse it with them just greeting other customers. At my job I have to balance ringing up someone at the register, answering the phone, and saying hello to everyone who walks in. I really hate when I am checking someone out and the phone rings.

I honestly believe that a lot of people that work behind the registers aren't really use to others being friendly. Most customers are so quick to go in and get out that they don't bother being polite and conversing. It's more like, here's my money, now give me my shit.

I always say good morning, how are you? To a cashier and I can't tell you the amount if times they seem surprised that I even asked. It's like that have to process it for a second. It doesn't stop me though. Eventually I end up seeing the same cashiers over and over again and they become super kind and polite.

I really don't think it's anything personal. It's just the nature if the job.

I always ask customers if they found everything alright today and that one always takes them by surprise. We also are suppose to spend under a min to ring someone out. If other places are like that, there isnt much time for chit chat
