Something that bolthers me a little...

So I've been doing some thinking about what people are always saying about "Guys are so immature" and "Why are guys so stupid, why do they hurt girls?" And I've also read a quote that goes:What are little boys made of?
What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails
And puppy-dogs' tails
That's what little boys are made of
What are little girls made of?
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice
And everything nice (or all things nice)
That's what little girls are made of[1](This is just from a Wikpedia source page I saw) The reason why this makes me annoyed is because just because, yeah there are some guys out there that to fill in the qualities of being ignorant and immature, there are also girls like that too. I know what you guy probably might think it sounds weird for me to defend the opposite sex standpoint because I'm a girl myself, but I don't think it's fair that guys have to recieve all the hateful, negative remarks about what they are and that all the girls in the world are these sweet, good natured perfect little angels that don't do a darn thing wrong. You know, there are some girls, believe it or not I've came across that weren't sweet or good natured at all. Some were downright bossy, intimidating, brusque, vicious, and stubborn. I hate that some people out there think that it's always on the guys who do everything wrong, who can't treat a girl right, or they just comment that they lack intelligence and maturity. Well, I'm sorry but I think I might have to correct these flawed quotes and opinions because there are girls out there who are no better either. Not every girl is a sweet loving angel, most can be downright savaging monsters. I hate that the quote has to generalize all girls are the loving, nice, and good hearted while guys just practically get burnt and thrown into the dumps that they are good for nothing pieces of garbage. It goes both ways and

I'm sure most of you would agree that there are girls that start crimes these days, are in jail, abusers, ones who do drugs and alcohol, prostitutes even. Not all of the guys out there in the ENTIRE world are immature, ignorant, stupid as I guess society would like to percieve. I'm not saying there aren't some girls out there that are nice, kind or caring, but this needs to stop with these invalid, unreasonable statements on guys who are the ones that are the cruel, evil people of this world and girls that get away with everything they do scot-free. No one ever criticizes how there are bad girls in this world too, I guess they just think that maybe from centuries that women were lady like and supposed to be clean, but the harsh world we live in right now, I think some girls are beginning to take a different turn of their behaviors. I hate people are saying Guys are just immature and there are bad men in this world, but for god's sake, look at the women out there who have been arrested, who have gone to prison, who have killed innocent lives because of their insanity. I'm sure even there are little girls that do just the same thing. I think the what the quote said is very biased, inconsistent, and illogical.

I've always been an old soul so the whole, "Girls mature faster than boys" statement always bothered me. I always thought it was kind of a damaging thing to pound into little girls' heads because what I saw growing up was a lot of girls playing grown up but were just as immature as any boy I knew. Also, it made them believe that they knew everything by the time they were teenagers which often caused them to make bad decisions because they thought they were already grown. Guys do things well into adulthood that can be considered immature such as play sports or remain competitive with each other but I don't really think those things are signs of immaturity, it's just things guys do or like.

I think some people mature faster than others but I'm not 100% convinced that maturity or immaturity applies to any one gender.

Yeah I agree, and I'm also sick and tired of that phrase "Girls mature faster than boys." Some girls don't mature when they grow up so I hate it that it's girls that recieving all the praise because of what they are. These false statements just spread propaganda. I also know that girls complain that why do guys play video games and play sports, blah blah blah. So what?? I'm a girl and I like to play video games, not so much sports though. I do things that could be considered "masculinity" traits. If you ever see in some movies and shows where the guy is always playing video games and the girl just sits there bored or tries to seduce him. Or even goes far as to yank the chord out the plug to turn of the game. I just hate that.

I honestly wouldn't care if he played video games around let alone I'd at least join him. Now I'm not too fond of guys who aren't courteous like belching loudly, farting, or are rude. Neither am I fond with those traits in girls either. I could almost imagine a guy's pain when they have to be dragged in clothes shopping with their girlfriend, waiting hours for them to pick out shoes or a perfect dress, or "cute" shirts, tank tops and skirts. Hell, I don't really care about shopping into trendy clothes, doesn't mean I won't go clothes shopping, but I don't want to spend precious hours on finding something cute when I can just look for something that's casual and fits my own style. And don't even get me started on girls saying that guys are immature when they are the ones who gossip, who compete with another girl, who lie, who back stab others, who want to be cool, who deceive people, and so on. I mean the list goes on, but girls saying that guys are the only ones that are immature, I think some of them need to look at their own faults and think is it really only the guys, or is it girls too that are like the same way? Yeah people can say "Oh guys are egotistical" "Guys are aholes" but you know what, It can go the other way around too. I'm tired of stupid media portaying girls as these good natured, these perfect "Mary sues" out there who never ever do anything wrong. They always have to have the perfect grades, the perfect hair, the perfect personality, the perfect clothes, ect. And guys are just labeled as the fat lazy slobs who drink, watch sports, don't have table manners, name calling, ect. I will say that I'm not like a lot of girls to begin with and I actually did wish I was born a guy instead, but I do some things that would be considered guy hobbies, video games, lifting weights, ect.

guys are immature, women are immature. everyone can be horrible. women just tend to get away with it more because of this "oh women are fragile, perfect beings that do nothing wrong". it's always the man's fault. or "oh that woman assaulted or killed her husband? her husband must have been a terrible person. poor girl..."

also, who cares if you dont fit into the gender stereotypes? i mean ive never seen video games as a masculine thing, but ive grown up playing video games and all my female friends have been gamers as well. its actually a pretty equal number of number of female gamers versus male gamers. but if you want to do something, just do it. who cares if its commonly associated with one gender over the other.

Well, yes. There are some outmoded modes of belief still active today as well as ones that are just plain crude about a sex--though they're often more subconscious. They hurt both sides.
