Hey, look at this!

At this moment, I noticed that we have 10 active members on the site. It's a small number, but it's one or two more than I'm used to seeing.

Nevertheless, there have been maybe two posts in the last hour, and one of them was from me. If you guys are here, you're not doing much to show it! In an effort to get some more community involvement, I've created my own thread of randomness!

Let's talk about what we're doing right this second!

Right now, I'm creating a thread as a means of avoiding other things that I need to do, while listening to classical music on Pandora. What are you doing?

If that doesn't interest you, let's do something else. Let's make this an RPG thread.

Here's the setting, you walk into a dimly lit room, the air is musty and stale; it could have been centuries since another living person was down here. In front of you, the pathway forks in two different directions. To your left you can hear the faint sound of running water.

Don't like that either? Ok, let's talk about work.

Right now I'm working towards becoming a teacher and am co-teaching my first real classroom! It's been pretty tough, and I'm struggling to keep my head above water!

Does that not interest you either? Well, then think of this as a thread of opportunity! Let's communicate, commiserate, and collaborate! What do you want to talk about? What don't you want to talk about? What do you want others to talk about? What do you want that one guy two doors over to talk about?

Right now, I'm responding to this thread instead of getting ready to go to the recycling center and assorted shops. Procrastination: it's what I do, day after day.*

I've lost my sense of direction, as though I'm in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike. Also, it's dark; I may be eaten by a grue.

This isn't working. I'm not working. I haven't worked in years. Work? What's that?

This is me, taking the opportunity to write something about nothing to no one in particular and everyone else, too, largely because I'm in love with the sound of my own keyboard. And because I'm procrastinating. And caffeine.

Thank you for your kind attention.

*When I get around to it.

Thank you for your contribution! I was getting worried for a moment. Also, sense of direction...what's that?

I thought I had something like it once, but it was probably just indigestion. Everything is so unpredictable, establishing any direction or form of being grounded is a monumental task.

You should buy yourself a compass.

I had a moral compass once, but I didn't like the color, so I traded it in for an immoral one. Ended up pinching the silver* and blowing a thousand bucks at a strip club.**

Now I'm strictly lensatic.

*Not really.
**Really.
Footnotes? Why am I using footnotes?

FOOTNOTES ARE THE BEST THINGS EVER, THAT'S WHY! My favorite authors use footnotes! They give a commentary on the commentary! It's meta-writing, and I love it!

Rocket-propelled grenades, eh? What are you, some kind of terrorist? I may have to report you to the NSA...:bat:

I keep my longsword in my right hand and a lit torch in my left. I remember to watch the ceilings at all times. I'll have one of my porters do the mapping and another tap the floors ahead with a 10' pole.

Right now I'm working towards becoming a teacher and am co-teaching my first real classroom! It's been pretty tough, and I'm struggling to keep my head above water!

Ah, a masochist, eh? What grades?

You find yourself lost in a matter of moments, as you were issuing orders to imaginary porters and had no one recording your location. You now find yourself in a large chamber. At the far end, you see a looming figure, but the light of your torch cannot seem to reach it at your current distance. There is a pathway to the east. You've entered from what you assume to be the southern point of the room, but without any bearings you can't be sure.

And they're 11th graders. It's American Literature. it's boatloads of fun. -_-

You want to know how I got these scars?

I head down the left path towards the sound of the running water and find that the wall toward the back of the room I have entered has become decayed and partially fallen away. I look through the hole in the wall and discover a small, dimly lit channel of water winding its way along a small path.
I climb through the hole in the wall and try to decide whether I should go upstream or downstream..

OOOH! I like where this is going...hmm...try downstream first. Actually, why don't you examine the stream, make sure that there's nothing at the bottom, ya know?
